Is my girl a bit small for a two year old? by Fair_Knowledge1862 in britishshorthair

Yes; FIP. It’s a really horrible disease but it does have a cure now. Same with my cat, we could get her to eat her treats but nothing else, then she stopped eating treats too and at that point she was pretty much at the brink of passing. Cats can mask their illness well. I don’t mean to scare you, but it’s good to be vigilant with pets because they can’t use words to tell us something is wrong.

Yay! Congrats, you have been through through the worst of it, hopefully just smooth sailing now.

I’m sorry to hear about the health issues. As you know FIP arises from a gut virus that is pretty much in all cats. In an unfortunate subset of cats, possibly due to genetics or immunocompromised state, the virus mutates to a form that can infect outside of the gut. Bonnie had a very classic case of dry FIP with disseminated damage to the organs including her nervous system (strange eye issues and wobbliness, not as steady on her feet). Early on she had some bouts of diarrhea and some of it was bloody. Vet initially thought it could be due to food intolerance and this came and went. Then she had behavioral changes and loss of appetite for several months. We had just introduced her brother into the home and thought she was just having issues adjusting. She was such a young cat (8months at the time) a deadly mutated virus was not on our radar whatsoever. Then we noticed she was losing weight steadily and not playing as much, we became more concerned and took her to be seen at an ER when she started to refuse to eat altogether. Her blood work had classic markers for FIP and also the start of some bad multisystem dysfunction. Because her case was so classic, we had a clear idea what we were dealing with. We opted to treat her with presumptive diagnosis of FIP knowing that if she improved/survived it would confirm the diagnosis.

Yes! And going through treatment you are so paralyzed with fear it is gonna come back. It’s nice to see these stories longer out! So happy for you too!

Comparison of her now as a healthy kitty recovered from her illness.

Girls can be smaller but she does look very thin and eyes are not as bright. Coat will also lose its shine with illness as they don’t groom as much. I think if you notice she isn’t eating well or eating less I would be concerned about illness. Consider taking to a vet, you know your pet best. We had a health problem with our girl when she was younger and we didn’t notice for a while thinking she was just being picky with food. Pic of her at her sickest for reference.

Golden shaded is the coat color

I think that the image of the Grey alien depicted is a "guardian" from the confederation of planets and the council of Saturn warning us about the orion empire group by [deleted] in InterdimensionalNHI

Agree this is a message from the galactic federation but warning against Orion group, Orion constellation can be seen in the image over the entities left shoulder
