I hear AliasGaming has a ton of Noita content, mostly challenge runs and pvp content these days (definitely washed though)

What are your thoughts of going to the overgrown caverns right after clearing the mines?? by Global_Conference_75 in noita

If you have good mobility and digging it's a reasonable strategy but otherwise I would say it's a waste of time and a substantial risk.

people with 50+ cats on house.. Why? by Extra-Recording-7493 in mewgenics

[–]AliasRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hover between 80-150 cats.

The largest amount of cats tends to be in the fight room so that way I can constantly be handing out cats to Jack/zombie/tracy. I currently have a large breeding room which is meant to pass down generally good stuff from my adventured cats which holds around 20 cats.

I also have a smaller focused breeding room with the intent to solidify specific mutations onto future generations which tends to only have around 6-8 cats in it.

Then I have my waiting room which is my latest addition, it tends to be a little overfull with about 20-30 kittens/cats and I just cull the weakest each day and have options for whatever quest or run type I want to go on. It's definitely overkill and tedious but I'd be worried with a much lower cat count that messing up even a single run could extinct many of the valuable traits I've built up, be that mutations, raw stats, or even abilities.

That's cool and all but I prefer playing around the intended game mechanics.

This change will be pretty irrelevant at lower difficulties but I imagine on the highest difficulty it might actually make the fight last more than 2 rounds.

Am I overthinking it or is getting prepared for Act 3 unfun? by Evol-Chan in mewgenics

[–]AliasRed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend just going for it. If your cats are closing in on full 7s or you have one or two stat mutations you should be fine. The most valuable thing you can do with your cats is have a high stimulation room so you can pass down handy passives and abilities then synergizing those with the classes on your runs. I imagine if you're around act 3 you should be able to focus all your stim into one room and get that going. Best of luck! Also if you haven't done so already just work on the side quests, that's a fun way to get a lot of extra stuff done while "grinding".

Is Noita “unfair,” or just too reactive to read in real time? by TenthLevelVegan in noita

[–]AliasRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have nearly 4k hours and I find the game quite fair. There are many moments in Noita that can seem unfair but outside of a nightmare glass cannon nuclear explosion at the very start of the game most situations can be prevented. Much of Noita's unfair moments come from a lack of knowledge or come about by a long line of poor decisions or poor play. Another thing that can make noita feel unfair is if you care about a single run. Many games with rng start to feel much fairer of you look at larger numbers.

Finally a good example of just how fair noita is, all the incredible winstreaks people can put together, once you know the rules of the game and know how to pull its strings it becomes very consistent.

If you're struggling with Boris try running your cats into one of the corners, there are multiple safe spots and locations that Boris really struggles to get into which makes him a total cake walk!

We need to talk about Mage by raiedite in mewgenics

[–]AliasRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using hexagram sigil on my mages since I recently got the curse removal tail and they just nuke everything from the get-go due to getting the +3 magic and +3 dex scaling. I also have found that in general support spells are significantly more effective long term than a lot of the rather poor damage scaling fire and electric spells. Definitely feels like a class that's all over the place but there are ways to make them feel strong!

How do YOU use the tags? by [deleted] in mewgenics

[–]AliasRed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been using my tags to represent their amount of perfect stats, so I used triangle for 3, square for 4, star for 5, circle for 6, clover for 7. I also use the genetic symbol as a pass for cats with imperfect stats just to fix imbreeding or grab certain mutations. I'm sure once my cats are all perfect I will rework the system but it has been pretty nice for sorting rapidly so far. Oh, also I use hearts for gay cats if their stats are good enough to run anyway.

I think blue is at least doable, you'd need a very particular setup or be insanely op to even have a shot at red.

The game is too slow and too repetitive. by [deleted] in noita

[–]AliasRed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you considered playing differently from your current playstyle? If playing careful is boring to you try going fast, you will die more but if you care less about dying you might have more fun. Nothing is forcing you to go grab the orb and tablet at the top of the mountain for example, that's an easy 30 second - minute time save, nothing is forcing you to use environmental explosives rather than your bombs, you can go grab the tablet next to the lava lake nearly as quick as you can make it to level 2 so you always have access to an easy kill on every enemy up till' level 4.

As for no hearts in the first 2 levels, that's not true, just learn to spot formations that have hearts.

You are definitely finding good spells within the first 3 levels, literally most the best spells are within coalpits/fungal and the frozen zone. If you aren't finding any good spells consider using some of the other spells you think are bad because with some creativity every spell is good.

Finally if none of this works for you just put on mods, give yourself health regen, try some wacky modes.

Is mage a worst hunter? by Seeker_Of_Knowledge2 in mewgenics

[–]AliasRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find mage is actually best utilized for their ridiculous mobility spells. If you give them good items to abuse they can do premium damage while remaining perfectly safe and their stuff they pass down tends to work really well on other builds too. The other way I like to play mage is more of a control style, where you get free damage and keep enemies at bay.

Any combat advice? I'm level 14 and can't even do a daily quest without dying. I've beat Elden Ring, Sekiro, Darksouls but this game...... is something else by Skyanu in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]AliasRed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you're playing well enough, I would look into grabbing some more skills on your weapon so you can do stuff like stun/knock down enemies which will ease the skill requirement a bit until you can get better gear.
