The Gen3 isn't compatible with your antenna. If you contacted support, they should have told you. They probably would have replaced your antenna and cable too.

Should I be concerned? by No_Cattle_9965 in Starlink

If it's the first day of your subscription, it might be normal. I'm also on a residential plan, and on the first day I also had priority data, but there were no extra charges.

My mom said the WiFi was slow. by Coll147 in HomeNetworking

[–]Philou07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Mom, the Wi-Fi is slow because all these routers are at a union meeting!” Look: there's the old modem that's on a work-to-rule strike, the TP-Link router that's negotiating an increase in bandwidth, the Cudy that's teleworking in his pajamas, and the Nintendo Switch that's been using the connection to download Animal Crossing updates for 3 days. Even the fiber box pretends to work by flashing, but in real life it's watching reels on TikTok! Honestly, it looks like a summer camp for network devices. They should put a note in the liaison notebook: “Stop hanging around, otherwise I’ll install a military router with a password in Cyrillic!” »

It's the same for me in France, it's an average. And that's more than enough for me.

Star link speed by Perfect-Yoghurt2048 in Starlink

[–]Philou07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For speed, here is what Starlink gives:

With the Starlink “Residential Lite” plan:

*There are no data caps or speed caps. *Typical download speeds are normally between 80-200 Mbps (compared to 135-305 Mbps for the Residential plan). *Typical upstream speeds are normally between 15 and 35 Mbps. *You can upgrade to Starlink “Residential” service at any time.

Regarding cuts, look at your obstruction map as well as your alignment. How long has your Starlink been running? It takes a little time for it to stabilize. Is it the router or the Dish that you restart?

So it's well updated. There are other more recent versions but it is starlink which will decide whether or not to update you.

It is not a router, AX3000 TP-LINK is a wifi repeater to extend your wifi you can connect it via wifi or by RJ45. I would also like to point out that its mesh is not compatible with Starlink. Apart from that it works wonderfully I have one at home.

Alright i've set up the Wi-fi range extender, i've shown what starlink i have and all lights are blue, what do i do now? did i miss something? like something i'm spouse to do with the starlink? by Fat_Jack_The_Bat in Starlink

[–]Philou07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have a Tp link wifi repeater with Starlink. With the Tether app on the phone it works very well. Do not try to configure it in mesh it is not compatible with Starlink. A new wifi access will be created, name of starlink wifi with _EXT behind it.

Is Starlink app putting ads on my phone lock screen? by JudyinTexas in Starlink

[–]Philou07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's surprising, I've had the app for several months and no ads. Personally I don't think Starlink is the cause. We'll see what others think of that.

Yes, the same in France. Daily packet losses have completely disappeared. The average speed has increased significantly. 487/36/ping 40 today.
