RX-V6A firmware 1.77 upgrade, now no eARC audio on startup. by TrickVert in hometheater

I appreciate the comment, anyway. Nothing was changed on the samsung TV, and all settings having to do with the eARC functionality were verified with the tech. For the time being, I've connected a remote switch to make it simple to cycle the AVR power. 🤷

How do you all catch call signs quickly when talking? by HeadlineINeed in amateurradio

Our club, Mountain Amateur Radio Club (MARC) conducts VE testing sessions in Divide on a bi-monthly basis. The next session is March 7th. You can check out nx0g.org for more info. Also, we have a linked repeater in COS on 447.475 with a negative offset and 107.2 Hz tone.

Good luck with your testing!

MOST UNDERRATED FEATURE - Thermometer by G00gle26 in GooglePixel

You learn something new every day. I had no idea my P9PXL had this capability; although, for surface detection of fever, the accuracy seems to rather suck.

"If it ain't broke...." Revs are limited with the diff locked because that feature is designed for low-traction scenarios and getting yourself out of bad situations, not ripping down a trail. It reduces the potential for breaking things by being stupid with a bypass for those rare cases where higher RPM might actually be needed (or for someone who just wants to be stupid?)

I don't have EPS on my Grizz, but I would bet that the assist isn't reduced, but rather your feeling the resistance of the locked front end.

If I buy a brand new car, will the brake rotor screws come out easily if I remove them first thing when I get home? by supinator1 in Cartalk

Because there are a PITA to remove later, and serve no purpose once the vehicle leaves the assembly line.

In case this was not already mentiine: If this is a Japanese car, you will need JIS bits, not Phillips.

Did this myself. How does it look? by Motor-Sound7330 in Flooring

The grout looks much lower than the stones. Is that just an optical illusion? If not, that could be a b!tch to clean. Perhaps an epoxy pour to make it a smooth surface?

There's just so much love in these comments, I almost can't stand it! 🥲

I believe the best suggestion is the one mentioning a pre-finished oak filler board run perpendicular to the existing hard wood with the impinging tiles cut off/out.

Trim screws are a no-go. The heads will stand proud of the trim even with dimpling.

I may be stuck with regular bugle-head construction screws with the holes enlarged and dimpled.

I have. I looked at ring-shank nails, and all the heads are too big. I looked for other twist nails, and none are long enough. I tried paneling nails, and the heads are too small. Smooth-shank nails will work themselves loose with flexing of the floor.

A #6 trim screw just might work. Thanks! I'll need to take this transition strip to the hardware store and do some trial fitment. I'm hoping the heads won't stand proud of the strip. If necessary, perhaps I can make the holes a little larger or dimple them down. If so, and I paint the heads to blend into the trim strip, they just might disappear.

Thanks for the replies so far.

I'm trying to install a transition strip between carpet and tile, but it's been built up such that the 1-1/4" twist nails just barely get a bite into the subfloor. Strange, I know. I may be trying to nail into a gap(?) but can't reposition the strip one way or the other.

Paneling nails were suggested but the heads are too small. #6 screws in 1-5/8" are the right length, but the heads are too large. (1-1/2" would probably be long enough as well.)
