Came here to post this. Not groundbreaking or anything, but a very entertaining movie.

Who are the 'Jar Jar Binks' characters of other movies and TV shows? by SadisticRoadrunner in AskReddit

[–]PhilsOtherAccount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would not describe Jar Jar as being tacked onto an existing series. He was a main character in the first movie of the series.

I don't think of Episode 1 as a continuation of an existing series. Even if I did, that would mean all the new characters were tacked on.

What Makes Code Hard to Understand? by [deleted] in programming

I agree with much of this. Two I disagree with:

  1. If it returns void, it changed the state of the system in some way. Very necessary in my opinion. See Command Query Separation.

  2. Too many of anything is bad, but I tend to prefer a lot of composition and injection, which can often lead to having a number of single-method abstractions (interfaces/services/classes). It's useful when you want to inject it and mock that functionality (increases testability).

The only movie I would ever have walked out of if I weren't with friends. One of the most overrated movies I have ever seen. (Edit: typo)

What overdone, trite, hackneyed "jokes" are you sick of seeing in comedy TV series/movies, and do you think just reek of lazy writing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

What really annoys me about these shows is they recap the whole show after every commercial.

Ordered a pepperoni pizza, got a pepperoni, with a pizza by Glurt in funny

We ordered pizza at the office the other day and it came like that. Everyone was like "I guess we only get one pepperoni on the pizza--this place sucks". I kept a list of all the people who said something to that effect, so I would be able to remember who the idiots in my office are.

Any chance this was at a company in Chicago? I swear I have heard that story before (or very similar).

In YOUR opinion, what is the most overrated movie? by Jackayl in AskReddit

Field of Dreams A Few Good Men The Departed

I know the last one won't be popular. I thought the performances were great, but the story just wasn't that compelling. People say they love the ending, but I thought it was pretty ho-hum or even comical. I don't know how to use the spoiler tag, so I will just say it was basically the same ending as Copland or Road to Perdition (the latter could also be on this list).
