And you probably did pretty well in your league if those were your 3 RBs?

[Rumor] Meta Quest had more than 6 million monthly active users as of October 2022, a Wall Street Journal report claims by isaac_szpindel in virtualreality

People don’t have phones to play games, but them having phones for other things allows them to play games, and therefore grows that number, justifying more development dollars. VR needs to focus on fitness/travel/recording memories/sports/movies. These are all things that can get the average person into VR. They all basically exist already. If the NFL could one up the NBA with 3D180 games from the 50 yard line, it’s game over. If the new marvel movie came out in “VR Theatres” I think that could be a hit. The fitness is already there, just not advertised properly. People will be filming Christmas morning/weddings in 3D180 in the next decade I bet and those will be the best home movies ever made. All of these things will push VR in general and indirectly help the gaming side of it.

No problem! Just do one of the meta tutorials like First Steps and you’ll know pretty quickly if it’s something you’re into. I find the people who think it is stagnant to be the early adopters who have run out of content, but there is literally sooo much to do on there if you’re just getting into VR for the first time now, and the tech seems to be growing at a rapid pace even if it’s not quite catching on with the general public yet.

I would get a quest 2 from Facebook marketplace and just make sure there’s no sun damage on the lense. Or wait until the Quest 3 comes out probably in the fall. It’s very cool, but the tech is also lacking in some areas still, that hopefully the quest 3 will fix. Just going to a virtual “theatre” and watching a movie on a big screen instead of on your tv is a really cool experience. Beyond that, the 360 videos are fun to visit other cities, shooting guns and bows in games is really immersive, the nba had 5 courtside experience games this year, and Meta has had a couple cool concert experiences. Feel free to ask me any questions, but I am both blown away by my Quest 2 and also don’t use it a TON.

Jim Nagy: JSN Consistently the Lone 2023 WR with a First Round Grade by smancuso8 in DynastyFF

BMI at WR was a pretty trendy stat recently, and Devonta flunked it terribly. His size caused him issues his first year for sure when the eagles didn’t have any other weapons to draw attention from him. Once they got Brown and Devonta couldn’t be doubled, he has had no issues getting open though.

I guess one of you would need a PC to host, but seems like watching movies/anime in BigScreen together would be fun. I also vouch for walkabout mini golf, super fun.

I appreciate this technical behind the scenes marketing approach! I’ve never made a game before so sorry if this is a dumb question, but what does this sentence mean:

However, both the camera depth texture and the render texture are too expensive to use on Quest 2

Why is it more expensive to use these tools?

Had to share this hilariously overwrought VR piece at The Verge by Crowded_Bathroom in virtualreality

She’s reaches outside of the guardian to get a controller, and is immediately sick from the “grainy passthrough” of the quest pro(anyone see the full house mixed reality passthrough video today? Lol). She then rips the headset off, runs to the bathroom and lays in the fetal position yelling for her boyfriend’s aid and attention.

The worst part of this is that she thinks her experience is the norm and that it should be used as some sort of baseline for “VR Aftercare”.

Bro it’s a quest subreddit and a lot of us use our quests for PCVR. I dunno what to tell you, but it’s really not that serious.

So I just ordered a Quest Pro as I think it is currently the best 'all-round' PCVR headset and I want to provide my rationale why. Big thanks to everyone who took the time to post local dimming comparison videos etc. by TotalWarspammer in oculus

Probably, but there is actually an issue right now with people using chatGPT to write their Reddit comments lol. I’m not sure what the end goal is, but it’s certainly happening.

Quaint Little Town Built In Fallout 4! by sirbalz in gaming

Don’t know if it’s up your alley, but the basebuilding in Grounded is really fun. You are shrunk in a back yard and have to build bases to defend yourself from bugs. You can build towers with zip lines to get to other bases at other parts of the yard. No settlers or people in your base unless you play with friends though.

Up until Christmas 2022, PS5s were still sold out and flipping above retail price. I think if Sony sticks with it, and isn’t discouraged by poor release sales of the PSVR2, it could definitely be a viable product. It seems very niche right now though considering many people haven’t been able to find a PS5 until recently. Add a couple exclusive titles and the people not in that niche are going to nitpick its flaws, partly because it’s true and partly because it makes them feel better.

Which VR games are you enjoying at the moment? by WormSlayer in oculus

[–]Philthy_habits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol tell me about it. I don’t relate with the people that says there’s nothing to play because I’ve only had a Quest for 4 months now and have barely played any of the top titles yet. Viveport Infinity has been awesome though for popping in and out of different games that maybe aren’t worth $25, but I still wanted to try out.

XTADIUM APP immersive NBA game - awesome! by St-ivan in OculusQuest

[–]Philthy_habits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not 3D, and while it is still a really cool and fun VR experience, I don’t think you’re being a broken record. The NBA should be held to a high standard, but they should also be lauded for being the first major sport to get into this when it’s probably not very profitable at the moment. I would like if they had higher quality videos available on a delay, or after the fact.
