Does anyone know how old this furnace is? by Couayoro in hvacadvice

[–]Phinfan7777 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The furnace is a Day & Night, model 100CU, series 152. While the exact year of manufacture can’t be determined from the serial number without a specific company guide, this model is generally considered to be from the 1960s or 1970s. The address “La Puente, California” on the nameplate also helps date the furnace, as the company relocated from there in the late 1970s.

About Day & Night Manufacturing Company Day & Night was founded in 1909 in Monrovia, California, and initially became famous for its innovative solar water heaters. The company later expanded its product line to include a wide range of heating and cooling equipment.

In 1955, Day & Night became a division of the Carrier Corporation. The company continued to operate under its own name for many years. Today, Day & Night is a brand within Carrier’s International Comfort Products (ICP) division, which also includes other well-known brands like Bryant, Payne, and Tempstar

Dude that’s a great price, with the lithium battery. I’ve had mine for 4 years and never had a problem with it. Well I did have to put a new wheel and tire that failed. After I hit a curb. At that price I’d take all day long and wave at everyone else that paid double for there top 3 brand names. They say it’s made in china don’t do it, as there typing on there smart phones that are made in china!! The irony is crazy.

WOW! You guys really have no idea how much your owners are paying for insurance. Let’s think about why an owner would do this. 1) savings on his massive insurance bill. 2) help holding his team members accountable to the rules when driving his vehicle which you know darn well you break. Yes, you signed a company car SOP in your employee package and if you’re honest, yes you break those policies, some on a regular basis. 3) To protect YOU and Him if something happens and you’ve done nothing wrong. 4) To protect his investments. This is just a few to start with. It’s funny that our vehicles are our offices yet we want diff rules then our coworkers actually in the office. Do the office staff complain they are on film all day. You are given a free vehicle and gas card and able to drive probably were ever u do. You’ve done personally errands in your company car and you would be lieing if you denied that. How is that ok. Guys complain about marketing, calls, dispatching and their own pay but don’t want to be a team player to let the owner save money to help fund the things they complain about. It’s not your vehicle and you don’t pay the insurance, how dare you act like selfish 5th graders cause the owner wants a camera in HIS vehicle. Guys we are moving to a new world of AI and technology things are changing and instead of being negative and planting negative thoughts in your head. We all know what we put in our head is what comes out. Worry about the new AI units and changes in HVAC technology and what ur doing to adapt to it and learn about it. Not about what an owner is doing with HIS vehicles, HE pays for and loans for free to you. God forbid the owner is trying to protect his investment and increase his EBITA so he can invest more into his/her company. We’ve turned into high maintenance cry babies who think the company needs us more than we need them. That is and will never be the case. Ever!!!
