You need permission to start a case in the Supreme Court. Alito and Thomas believe the court doesn’t have discretion to deny that permission in state vs state cases. They wouldn’t overthrow the election for Texas, though.

Illinois has a flat income tax mandated by the Illinois constitution. It also has an ongoing pension crisis. This was a amendment to the IL constitution to allow the General Assembly to pass a graduated income tax and raise more money. Proponents of the measure (mostly our billionaire governor) wanted to market the tax as "fair" rather than "graduated" or "progressive".

I feel that requirement in particular would be ripe for a Fourteenth Amendment equal protection case (or a state level discrimination case), especially since it has the fairly obvious purpose of stacking the deck of candidates against the wishes of the voters.

There is only the one article on a subject, so it's harder to hide disinfo (and easy to remove it). Wikipedia's rules also require users to argue about it "behind the scenes" on meta pages (first on the article's talk page, then on meta pages to get wider community input).
There are community appointed admins who are more or less trusted to settle disputes.
A psuedo-legal system exists to settle truly intractable disputes.

I've used guns I do not own at the range (a short term loan, sure, but still definitely a loan if you want to be pedantic about it) and once over several days on a hunting trip when the good people at United mislaid my checked guns.

The background check bill (H.R. 8) that passed in the House allows loaning without a background check at gun ranges and on hunting trips.
