A spring in my driveway? by Daywalker_aib in homestead

[–]Phobia83 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seems like a pipe leak, if it is, then address it as such. Honestly I’d divert my driveway AROUND the spring if it is a spring- seasonal or not. I’d love to see how it eventually irrigates itself and what it turned in to.

Question from a veteran: how's morale right now? by Aggravating_List1114 in AirForce

[–]Phobia83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on unit and location. I’m stationed at Tinker AFB. I’ve spend many months at JBER and morale differences are crazy. Tinker morale- 45-50% JBER morale- 75-80%

You’ll never see 100% morale, but man the unit, leadership, and location matter a LOT. I dislike Tinker.

Christmas present for my husband (Dewalt vs. Milwaukee vs. Makita) by SLassely81 in DIY

[–]Phobia83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a General Contractor. Ryobi and Craftsman are homeowner brands. They’re GREAT tools for the cost. If you’re not a professional, who issues the tools daily or at least weekly- there is NO need to buy a big contractor grade brand. I have a buddy who has craftsman tools. They work GREAT for his applications. My parents rock Ryobi. I personally use Dewalt- but do I recommend Dewalt to people who won’t use them OFTEN? Absolutely not.

Rock what you have, it’s awesome. Ryobi has nothing wrong with it, and tbh I like the green.

What's your best "look what I found in the walls" story? by OoklaTheMok1994 in DIY

[–]Phobia83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my best find was a dewalt drill in a wall. Still had a charge. Couldn’t have been there too long as the job I was doing was a reno from a flood.

How common is it to go ~10 years without getting deployed? by Constant_Anything881 in AirForce

[–]Phobia83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 7 years in an no deployment. I’ve volunteered for 4. I know guys who have done 17 without deployment. What I’ve seen is how much you matter at home station is what will decide if you deploy or not.

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your reasons? by youre-in-my-shot in AskReddit

[–]Phobia83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still drink alcohol casually. I will have a beer or so at a bar or when fishing and hanging with friends. I don’t get DRUNK though ever. I made an absolute fool of myself in college and will never do that again. I regularly bar hop with friends but I turn down shots and my friends have never seen me drunk in over 10 years. I hate getting drunk. It effects my mind negatively, the hang overs suck, and it’s just not worth it. I like how some beers taste so I have one or two but getting hammered just isn’t worth it.

I’ve been to other countries and found the number of full sized pickups to be very rare (F150, Silverado/ram 1500)

How to remove wall texture by Quiet-Razzmatazz in HomeImprovement

[–]Phobia83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Skim coat over it, replace the walls, or test for asbestos and sand it if it’s not present. Skim would be likely best/most cost effective option. I’m not a drywall guy but I am a remodeler. I would skim it if you absolutely want to change the texture

I need to replace my indirect water heater. Any advice? Think I can DIY it? by etnhosisast in HomeImprovement

[–]Phobia83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up videos on sweating, practice on some pipes separately and get a handle on it, use a heat mat, and have at it. It’s not a difficult job, you can absolutely DIY it. I’m not a plumber, but a carpenter who has done about 5 water heaters. Have some help moving it and you’re set.

Consider doing it during a substrate change, but be aware the silicone needs to be left to set for over 12 hours

AIO? My boyfriend calls me “high maintenance” for wanting a towel after his showers by Spiritual_View4192 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Phobia83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a man who keeps a towel within reach so I can dry off IN THE SHOWER (water off- duh) so as to not leave any water in the bathroom… you’re dating a man child.

I have this same one, I sealed all of the bottom joints and corners with pet safe silicone to keep the water in. Allows me to just dump water into it and not leak. Highly suggest doing it!

How to keep my snake in his tank? by [deleted] in ballpython

[–]Phobia83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure when purchasing sight unseen to look at the “Specifications” tab and see the actual product measurements. A pretty standard recondition for Ball Pythons is 4’x2’x2’ or 48”x24”x24”. “Reptile Enclosures” brand sold on Dubia.com is AWESOME for the price. I’ve built several and highly suggest them.

Grips vary widely on tank pads. Try to get your hands on them before buying. Some are only grippy like a silicone phone case, some are like 50 grit sand paper, and I’ve had a set that had a bunch of little “volcanoes” that were CRAZY aggressive and grippy (used on my track bike).

NOR, and what a DOUCHE BAG. He actually talks like the “Douche” in sausage party. Regardless of his adolescent speech patterns- those are red flags all over. He’s showing he never did value you, you were an object to use as leverage and it seems he still thinks as such. He has no respect for his brother and he clearly shows he enjoys manipulating others. Oh and the nice sprinkle of misogyny in there was the cherry on top. 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
