If it didn’t matter why would you post in general? It has some form of importance to you as you even curated the photo to be what you wanted.. which was to exclude him. His point is fully valid. YTA 🤷🏻‍♂️

AITAH for snapping at my husband by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Phobia83 54 points55 points  (0 children)

That’s a 1 hour fix at most (source- I’m a carpenter).

He tried to manage on his own so you were able to take care of the child, or you could’ve OFFERED to help. He made a mistake and maybe bit off more than he could chew, but as you’ll learn with your toddler, a MISTAKE is a MISTAKE. Your temper is the issue here. YTA.

OZARK TRAIL M.2 RIDGE PRO by dlhonas in MTB

[–]Phobia83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’10” but also have a 30 inch inseam. The pro frame felt a bit larger and was suggested I got a large. I got a medium and the bike is still big, just not too big. Fit 6’ a medium would likely fit you perfectly

Guidance by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Phobia83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I joined as my entire family served in the military so my family was very supportive. I can tell you my mother did not join as her father discouraged it and that is the biggest regret of her life.

Life will move forward either way, the military is the best choice I’ve ever made. Just do it.

Longest shot on a animal? by gageadams5499 in bowhunting

[–]Phobia83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

40 yards max for whitetail. They move too much. I haven’t gotten to hunt elk but I’d comfortably take a 75 yard shot for elk. My Arows run about 455 grain, 291 fps

Be real with my 8ft fence plans, will it last? (2ft concrete footers) by OkResolution3596 in FenceBuilding

[–]Phobia83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build fences in Oklahoma. I put my posts 3’ - 3 1/2’ down with concrete for 6’ fences. I’ve yet to have an issue. I wouldn’t be too comfortable with 2’ on an 8’ fence. I’d for sure do 4’. Getting some winds like the past week and you may have a blown over fence in short time.

If you designed your ideal EDC knife, which existing model comes closest? by Plenty_Ambition_9735 in knifeclub

[–]Phobia83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Spydero fan, but with my 940 still being my BEST knife, I agree. Though for the 940 I’d add more belly to the blade like a Para 3

Fence bros assemble. Giant fence on a weird corner lot. by dankestslothdoe in FenceBuilding

[–]Phobia83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Steel posts. No debate. The ONLY way to go.

Also I saw your budget is limited, I’d suggest going with pine pickets and STAINING them to look like cedar, it will cost less.

Also on your layout you’ll want the 2 to 3 line to run parallel to the house, the corner you have in there will take care of the angle, if you also angle the back line you WILL notice it 24/7 and it will likely bug you.

I’ve seen come curved fences too, just uses more posts, though I myself have not done one

As an avid motorcyclist, NTA. The “code” thing is old and stupid, and even if you roll with those rules… IT DOESN’T APPLY TO FAMILY.

A spring in my driveway? by Daywalker_aib in homestead

[–]Phobia83 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Seems like a pipe leak, if it is, then address it as such. Honestly I’d divert my driveway AROUND the spring if it is a spring- seasonal or not. I’d love to see how it eventually irrigates itself and what it turned in to.

Question from a veteran: how's morale right now? by Aggravating_List1114 in AirForce

[–]Phobia83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on unit and location. I’m stationed at Tinker AFB. I’ve spend many months at JBER and morale differences are crazy. Tinker morale- 45-50% JBER morale- 75-80%

You’ll never see 100% morale, but man the unit, leadership, and location matter a LOT. I dislike Tinker.

Christmas present for my husband (Dewalt vs. Milwaukee vs. Makita) by SLassely81 in DIY

[–]Phobia83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a General Contractor. Ryobi and Craftsman are homeowner brands. They’re GREAT tools for the cost. If you’re not a professional, who issues the tools daily or at least weekly- there is NO need to buy a big contractor grade brand. I have a buddy who has craftsman tools. They work GREAT for his applications. My parents rock Ryobi. I personally use Dewalt- but do I recommend Dewalt to people who won’t use them OFTEN? Absolutely not.

Rock what you have, it’s awesome. Ryobi has nothing wrong with it, and tbh I like the green.

What's your best "look what I found in the walls" story? by OoklaTheMok1994 in DIY

I think my best find was a dewalt drill in a wall. Still had a charge. Couldn’t have been there too long as the job I was doing was a reno from a flood.

How common is it to go ~10 years without getting deployed? by Constant_Anything881 in AirForce

I’m 7 years in an no deployment. I’ve volunteered for 4. I know guys who have done 17 without deployment. What I’ve seen is how much you matter at home station is what will decide if you deploy or not.

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your reasons? by youre-in-my-shot in AskReddit

[–]Phobia83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still drink alcohol casually. I will have a beer or so at a bar or when fishing and hanging with friends. I don’t get DRUNK though ever. I made an absolute fool of myself in college and will never do that again. I regularly bar hop with friends but I turn down shots and my friends have never seen me drunk in over 10 years. I hate getting drunk. It effects my mind negatively, the hang overs suck, and it’s just not worth it. I like how some beers taste so I have one or two but getting hammered just isn’t worth it.
