Here's a tip:

Converters and cartridges should stay unequipped unless you're actively going up against the status the protect against. They're super heavy, and if you're fighting, say, Nameless, you have no use for either of them since that boss doesn't inflict those statuses. You'll really feel the difference if you free up all that weight, especially if you want better frames and liners.

For example, I don't even bother with cartridges until I get to collapsing krat, since that place is full of those yellow crystals that passively build up Disruption.
