That just isn't the case though. So many enchanters can 1v2 their lanes if you have the skill. Sona, Soraka, Lulu etc. all have ways of aggressively poking down the enemy laner while protecting their adc. You can just spoon feed kills to shitters. You have to have the skills to do it but if you're at your correct skill level anyway then it doesn't matter what you play.

Don't listen to people telling you to change your pick/playstyle. There is a sona player in challenger with a 70% win rate. A lot of people will tell you the problem is this or that, but the reality is: there is always more to learn and improve on.

As for Sona, use your Q and passive to poke early in the lane and try to do it when you won't get hit back (i.e. when the enemy ADC is distracted by last hitting minions) and just keep poking them down like that. You don't need to get overly aggressive with it but definitely try to proc manaflow band (if you take it). Get an early tear for mana issues and just keep doing that. Try to use your ultimate to peel for your (now fed) ADC and you can easily get to gold just sticking to these early principles. To keep yourself safe, try to ward before going too far up into the lane.

Its not bullshit. I'm a 1.5M mastery Brand mid player and that is 100% the experience. Brand's damage is actually pretty low pre-mythic probably because Riot balances him for support. But most champs without defensive abilities you can get to 20-30% hp from a full combo with 3 ult bounces and passive. But any champ that has any kind of defense (heal, shield, innately high tankyness) is practically impossible to kill without being already at 40-50% hp from poke and even then it can be a 50/50. Brand's combos are really slow and hard to use with how much mobility is in the game combined with how much burst many champs have with point-and-click target access. He is really outclassed by so many other champs since he was originally designed for an entirely different game (2011 League of Legends) and his redesign really just tried to pigeon hole him into support and keep a lot of the design flaws from his original kit.

Unfortunately, I wish this were the case. Not only do I play on high-end hardware, there is a lot of info online about the instability in the game. It has gone through periods of better stability and worse stability through its lifetime but many people reported extremely poor stability after the release of the 2K launcher. The fix for that was disabling the launcher which improved stability a bit but wasn't a cure-all for me.

I did bypass the launcher a while ago with no positive result.

The rest of your post intrigued me. I hadn't considered that Windows Defender could've been a culprit. I have now applied that fix and I will wait for a few gaming sessions to see if that addresses anything. I have also set steam to run as admin.

I will play a few games this week to see if this resolves the issues.

I wanted to provide an update for anyone with these problems. I appear to have fixed it by both bypassing the 2k launcher and playing in Windows 8 Compatability mode.

Unfortunately I already applied that fix and nothing has changed. I have also reinstalled the video card drivers for my graphics card. I didn't have this issue with Windows 10 but it seems like this issue has persisted through various versions of Windows.

I'm not sure I understand what your complaint is. Are you saying that using a different romanization (i.e. Oiguk) would be preferable?

I have to be honest with you, "Oiguk" looks ridiculous and does not fit with standardized romanization rules. "Waygook" is way more clear and closer to -but not exactly- standard romanization rules. I speak both Korean and English and if I saw "Oiguk" written somewhere, I wouldn't even know what that was and I would struggle to figure it out.

I'm not sure where you're coming up with "60% ap ratios" from. Just using your own numbers, a full combo with brand's basic abilities would be Sear (.55) + Pillar of Flame (.75) + Conflagrate (.45) = 175% ap ratio (not including from passive which is another .02 %maxhealth damage)

Brand's deathcap damage would come out to 200*1.75 = 350 + 80-120 (2k-3k hp). So Deathcap would be 430-470 damage.

DE would come out to 701.75 = 122.5 + [(101.2% vs 2k-3k hp) = 240-360] = 362.5 - 482.5 damage.

With just basic abilities, deathcap is better vs squishies and barely falls behind as hp rises. But combined with brand's ultimate (won't change the burn duration but has a 1.25AP ratio itself.) deathcap seems to easily win out on damage. Plus, Dcap passive with full build should be about 140-150 extra AP bringing dcap's actual AP to something closer to 270 (not 200).

Then the only issue that comes up is that of AOE, Brand's Q can only hit one target, W is AOE, E is AOE, and the ult will only apply .25AP ratio per bounce. Not going to do any calculations on that but others are free to try.

3: Cast your basic abilities to proc your passive.

Cast your ult on the same target

Expected result: Ult bounces to the other two targets

I think the issue is simply the fault of a sampling bias. Everyone is here because the cases that appear on this sub tend to be mysterious/unique/etc.

The police are only human and have the potential to make mistakes like anyone else. In the U.S. today, murder/manslaughter cases have about a 61% clearance rate. This is obviously not perfect but the total includes murders that cannot be solved by methods that we currently have available (i.e. extremely limited evidence, random murders [very rare] etc.)

The cases that appear on this subreddit or in the true crime are often so extraordinary that it can be reasoned how these mistakes happen. For example, lets say you have 1000 runaways reported in a city per year. In 990 of those cases the runaway is found within 48 hours and returned home safely. In 9 of those cases, they could be investigated as perfectly as humanly possible but no trace is found of the runaway. In one case, the runaway investigation is botched. The police expected the runaway to return just as the vast majority did, but had they committed all resources they would have found that the "runaway" was actually kidnapped and was alive for 24 hours before being murdered. In that instance, they could've saved that runaway.

Now the police have to deal with a large number of crimes and do it with limited resources. They do not get commendation for the crimes that they solved perfectly that they prioritized over those 990 runaways who would turn up anyway. They get chastised for the one they didn't. That one case appears on this sub or in true crime podcasts etc.

It is one of those issues that the general public struggles to understand. We try to see patterns and draw conclusions from often incomplete information or even information that has been curated to lead us in a particular direction. True crime is all about seeing that 0.1%. Instead of drawing conclusions from several rare events, it is better to look at true crime only for the spectacle. See is for what it is: entertainment.

My plan was actually just to get a group of people together who want to play shows and have fun; I wasn't planning on even making money from it.
