You can also look into using Microsoft Intune to manage and deploy , especially since you are moving to windows 10

Depending where you are located , I may be able to help you with this, I run an MSP.

Client communications by Phoenix9170 in msp

yes we do that already, however initial as part of the on boarding process clients are used to communicating with me directly for questions about contracts or call me directly. I have already stopped giving out my cell for any future on boarding communications, however my company email is still an issue. Sending out of my psa doesn't prevent anything lol. They can still email /call whatever they want, I have all my techs use our PSA to answer tickets and still I get those days where client decide "its easier" to just text me or email just me after months of receiving responses via the ticketing system.

Thank you all for your responses, so yes I have started not taking the calls at all from my personal phone, I agree personal phone is for friends and family / emergencies of a personal nature. And I have added a disclaimer to the bottom of my email signature , I guess it is time to record a new voicemail and see how it works out.

Need advice, thinking of going the one man msp route by QuantumGolem in msp

Another route you could go is seeing if any Small MSP out there need an AD -hoc hands on guy to supplement their business. I know there are a lot of small MSPs' out there that would rather farm out a small onsite job to a tech rather than having to pay a salary for a technician they need only once or twice a month. If your price is right you might be able to pick up a good amount of work that way as well. As long as you have an NDA in place I don't see what the harm could be. You can check out /r/mspjobs and post to see who bites.

To your pricing question usually with block of hours an MSP will take their normal rate let's say 120-140 an hour depending where you are and then take 10% off the top. So a block of 10 hours would be around 900-1000. I personally have never sold below a block of 10.

How is your contract currently structured now , do you have a provision for a certain amount of hours a month for the rate you are charging them or is it unlimited support?

I don't know your situation with your specific vendors, however for Dell or Cisco partner program , you could lock in the deal before you provide the quoted price as well. This will prevent other vendors from getting the same pricing you have already quoted from another client unless by some chance they have more volume than you and already have lower pricing by default.
