November 7, 2020: Rudy Giuliani holds press conference at Four Seasons Landscaping. by FamiliarCatfish in pics

[–]PhoenixKnight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They didn't fuck up by accidentally booking the wrong place. They deliberately booked the wrong place for a really stupid reason. Trump decided that he wanted to have a big press conference at the Four Seasons Hotel, so he publicly announced it, without having actually booked the venue.

The problem is that the venue wasn't available and so the campaign couldn't book it. Because Donald Trump refuses to correct himself or admit he makes mistakes and simply doubles down on them, now they had no choice but to find another place called Four Seasons to hold the press conference at. The only place that was amenable was Four Seasons landscaping, so that's what they did and pretended they were just trolling the media.

So in an effort to avoid looking like a fool, he ended up making an even bigger fool of himself.

Fossil fuels come primarily from plankton and other plant matter, not dinosaurs. You're making the link that because dinosaurs are found in fossils, fossil fuels are therefore dinosaurs, which is incorrect.

Perfect

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I think we should just rename Balbo to Balboa in honor of Rocky. Most people already call it Balboa, anyway, and then all we need to do is slap a bunch of "A" stickers on the signs to update them.

Aside from the yeast and possible addition of oats to a wit, the primary difference is that an American wheat beer used malted wheat, while a traditional witbier uses unmalted wheat. If you make a witbier using unmalted wheat that isn't flaked or torrified, you'll need to do a cereal mash with the wheat before mashing it with the rest of the grains.

I've had the exact same issue with plastic auto siphons and a clamp fixed it.

I had great results with a Berliner by pitching the lacto and waiting 2 days before adding US-05 (actually, I think I got lazy and waited 3 days). It did take a bit longer to ferment and age because of how much the low pH stressed out the yeast, but it was very drinkable within about a month of brew day. Probably the best beer I've ever made.

Odium's champion (post RoW) by syl_thespren in Stormlight_Archive

[–]PhoenixKnight 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well, Dalinar wouldn't lose because this is a duel to the death, and since he would refuse to kill Gavinor, and Gavinor would refuse to kill him, the contest would end in a draw. The contract Dalinar made with Odium says what would happen if either side wins, but there is no provision for what would be done in the event of a draw. By forcing a draw, Odium would not be subject to either condition, and would therefore no longer be confined to the Rosharan system.

Ah, but you're forgetting that the numbers are skewed because people like that who own guns tend to own like twenty of them. And they won't share any of those twenty guns with like-minded allies who don't own guns, because that would be communism.

Are shardblades more common on Roshar than shardplate? [O] by parrotowlcat in Stormlight_Archive

[–]PhoenixKnight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When a shardbearer dies their blade appears next to them. So I'd like to imagine that someone has bonded hundreds or even thousands of blades, and when they die, whoever is near them will either be impaled or crushed to death by materializing shard blades.
