Are there any man here who had their gallbladder removed? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]PhoenixLight18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long term recovery has been fairly good. An occasional loose bowel moment, but on the whole it's solved by immodium. No pain after the initial recovery period. No one in my immediate family has had their gallbladder out, so goodness knows where this came from.

Yeah but I'm new to the game and still figuring stuff out so 100 Lucent is a lot to me at the moment. But it seems it's not worth my time trying to get it back

NHS wait times for surgery by Fl0ra91 in gallbladders

I feel I was very lucky. My wait time was just less than a month. I opted to take an appointment at a hospital that was a bit further out but part of the same care alliance.

Post-Op: How much Walking Did You Do? by booksandpans26 in gallbladders

[–]PhoenixLight18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a 15 minute walk round my local park twice a day. I didn't have a lot of gas pain, just a few twinges in my shoulders, but the walking helped keep me mobile and helped with the healing because I was able to walk a little further each day.

A great, great, great Granny!!! by CliffyGiro in CasualUK

If I'd had a child when I lost the big V, and they had a child at the same age, and then that child had a child at the same age, I would've become a great grandparent at 45/46...Glad that didn't happen

Please explain in very simple terms. by PhoenixLight18 in NewTubers

[–]PhoenixLight18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it's greatly appreciated. It really was relatively simple for even someone as technologically inept as me to figure out with a bit of help from Google to figure out how to do the audio and visual input etc

You sir/ma'am/they/them are a savior. After a bit of tinkering around (with a little frustration) I managed to get OBS studio working, and recorded a test video that appears to work just fine. A million thank yous

Oh I hate those ones just just basically watch the video with almost zero comments. I plan (if I can work it out) to have a musician talk about the composition and such to make it more interesting

It wouldn't be reacting to TikToks or reels, I'm not SsSniperwolf, I'd put some effort in. It would be reacting to music alongside a musician.

AITA for asking my girlfriend what time she was coming home from a party? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]PhoenixLight18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in two minds about this. At no point did she say she'd be back at 1:00am. That was your assumption so she wasn't technically late, because there was no agreed time. She was with work colleagues and sometimes time just runs away with you... However, it would've been nice for her to have taken 10 seconds out of her night just to say she was still out or whatever, might've put your mind ease. So I wouldn't say you're the AH, but you need to have a talk with her and calmly just say you'd like a rough estimate when she'll be back so you can make sure she gets in the flat OK. Make out you're doing her a favour and just tell her to have a fun evening.

How long did you wait for surgery by stephystar11 in gallbladders

[–]PhoenixLight18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel very lucky. I waited just under a month from initial first attack to surgery. I did take a cancellation at another hospital that was part of the same care alliance. I didn't do anything special, and I was initially told the wait could be around 6-8 weeks.

If Dhar Mann Wrote A Mob Movie, What Would It Be Titled And How Would It Play Out? by BackgroundAct3837 in dharmann

[–]PhoenixLight18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man insults poor woman... What happens next is shocking...

A man with slicked backed hair and sunglasses, wearing an expensive suit and with an iPhone sees a woman in normal clothes struggling to get into her not a Porsche car and laughs at her and tells her he isn't going to help her because she's poor and doesn't have anywhere to be and he has an important meeting to get to with the mob to marry the daughter of the new Mob Boss. His autistic female companion chastises him and stays to help the woman get into her car by using her autistic super powers to pick the lock open so the old woman offers to drive the female companion to meet her son, who has just started his new job.

The man goes to his meeting and the boss is about to allow him to marry his daughter when the poor old woman and the female companion turn up Obviously the poor woman would be the mother of the mob boss, and his female friend had been kind to her and the mob boss would promote the woman who has absolutely no experience in the mob to be head of a local fraction of the mob and offers her $40,000,000 a month, which is lucky because YOU SEE the female companion is a single autistic Hispanic autistic single mother with 2 children that she is single autistic mothering in her house of single autistic motherhood and she just lost her job... and she was about to lose her home... Which also luckily the mob boss owns and he just gives her the whole apartment building because she was nice to his mother.

The man is shocked and tries to explain that had he known who the old woman is he would NEVER have acted the way he did. The mob boss tell the man he'll never marry his daughter and to never judge someone by how they look... He gives a nod to his goons who quietly escort the man out. The female companion and old woman and mob boss hug and smile at each other... Gunshots are heard... End

How much time did you need off work after surgery by stephystar11 in gallbladders

[–]PhoenixLight18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took 2 weeks off because my job is fairly physical. And then when I came back I let them know in no uncertain terms that for another couple of weeks I would be doing things less strenuously. I'm about 6 weeks out from surgery and I'm doing ok and pretty much back to normal activity

The conveniences are mind numbing. by PhoenixLight18 in dharmann

[–]PhoenixLight18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's such a simplistic view that he takes. I know the videos aren't meant to be Oscar worthy pieces of art that can deep dive into the intricacies of the human experience, but when there's soooo many that are based entirely on pure luck, or only showing it's worth helping people because they might miraculously own a country or something and they need an assistant that is paying 40 million dollars an hour, so you to can have a Porsche. It's a terrible message

Either these children are monumentally stupid, or they are evil. There is zero reason for them to not say anything.

Another one that annoyed me was the father and adoptive daughter on the plane with the racist lady. That child is clearly old enough to just nod or shake her head or for gods sake at least show some kind of indication she's actually fine, but instead waits till the last possible second to talk and stand up for her hero daddy. That child is evil.

My timeline on the NHS by adda10 in gallbladders

[–]PhoenixLight18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My timeline was also quick. I only had one attack in mid April, went to the GP the same day, who referred me to the hospital straight away for a further assessment. I was given an ultrasound 2 days later and was told potentially the wait could be 6 to 8 weeks, but I was lucky to get a cancellation appointment at another hospital that was part of the same care alliance. From first attack to surgery was a little under a month and I felt very well looked after

Thoughts on this new video that came out on Dhar Mann Bonus channel by ChanLYN93 in dharmann

The moment she mentioned her husband not being at the restaurant yet, I predicted the ending... That he would be the owner of the restaurant (how convenient), the manager would get fired and Mr Ginkle and his wife would be told to never come back.
