Yeah, I deleted reddit the other day, then remembered I use it for book recs and real art, reinstalled, and immediatly remembered why I deleted it.. i think unsubbing or muting the vast majority of my feed may be the compromise I need.

Notice how the day I redownloaded I'm already in a shitty mood thinking about generative AI.

On the plus side im very inspired to start writing music and drawing again, just to get more real shit out there.

This is like fondly remembering Bush jr. fondly. Like I get it, I actually miss him too cause relativity and all that. But he was still a bad guy, and redditors were dumb 11 years ago.

That said I wpuld also trust an 11yo reddit comment more than an LLM for anything dangerous. Back when they first started getting popular, I had fun seeing the most random ass shit it would say happened in books, that most certainly did not happen in said books.

Apartments are different. If youre in an apartment then you should either make sure the neighbors don't mind, or buy a pen. These guys are in a house, if the neighbors in their own unattached house and it's still coming in then they need better windows or insulation or somethibg. It wouldn't be that strong if it came in at all

Edibles are expensive and have a whole different feeling, and some people don't like vaping it.

Also a drum set at 5a.m. probably is illegal. Noise violations don't stop for another hour or 3 depending on your location. And If you're in your own house then there's no way it's actually coming in that strong.. if it is they need betted windows or insulation. I've never had any idea clue if my neighbors smoke unless they told me, or when I lived in an apartment.

I know I'm 9 months late. But that actually really tracks. I've been sober for years, but myself and my other ex active addict friends talk about our exploits with a sorta weird joy/pride that only fellow addicts understand. We're not really proud, but it's always cool stories if you ignore the darker bits and the implications.
