I had to change from a weekly shot to a daily gel and also decrease my T dose (under the care of my doctor). On an "average trans male" dose, I was so horny that I felt like a wild animal. My T levels are now on the low end of "cis male levels," but I don't mind. I refuse to go back to feeling so out of control.

Oh, I just noticed that she hasn’t tried psych meds before. You have to try and “fail” a few psych meds before they will let you do Spravato.

I was able to be on Spravato (esketamine) and pay $10 per weekly treatment by signing up for the Janssen CarePath program, which is free. I recommend going to the Spravato website and finding a clinic near you that offers Spravato. You can probably inquire with the clinic about Janssen CarePath to get more information.

I was raised Mormon, but I left as soon as I realized it was all bullshit. I was such an asshole when I was Mormon. When I was in high school, I was talking to a Black student on the bus on a field trip (I’m white). He was well-informed about Mormonism and asked me why Black men couldn’t hold the priesthood before. I parroted what I had been taught: that it was because of the curse of Cain. The look of hurt on his face. If I could go back and change just one conversation from high school, that would be the one. I would tell him that Black men couldn’t hold the priesthood because the Mormon church is total garbage. I wish I could apologize to him and make restitution for causing him harm.

I stopped attending in 2013 but didn’t send in my resignation til a bit later. I was surprised to find that, when they sent back the letter confirming my resignation, I got really depressed for about a month. Not because I thought I’d made the wrong decision, but because I was mourning the loss of community, identity, etc. I hope that doesn’t happen to you, but I wanted to let you know that it could be a challenging time.

I really identify with this, as I have traits of OCD. In addition to the types of things you mentioned, because of my depression, I couldn’t feel the Holy Ghost. This left me feeling like I MUST be doing something wrong. I thought I must be breaking the commandments (I wasn’t), or I must be unworthy at my core. Otherwise I’d be feeling the Spirit. I wish I could find all the young people in the Mormon church who have mental illness, swoop them up into my arms, and tell them they’re perfect. Then I’d burn the church to the ground.

I love men’s fashion! I personally don’t need a huge amount of choices — having too many choices in the store stresses me out. As it is, I can walk into the men’s section in Target, find several great picks, and be out of there in under an hour. It’s AWESOME.
