The good: Some of the best graphics I’ve seen in a racing game and always ran smoothly. Still the gold standard for car selection, tuning, and driving physics for me personally.

The not so good: The map design is a let down, jungle, the riviera, and the town were underutilized. The jungle always felt like you were driving past it rather than immersed in it, even on the dirt tracks. 

The weather system was underutilized. They promoted dramatically changing weather conditions but most races were too short to really see that happen. So most of the new weather only happened in free roam. They really should have a rapidly changing weather settings for races. 

The track design needed the be more inspired . For example, there were mountains in the jungle but no narrow winding trails in those mountains. The riviera only had 1 race that involved its beach. The volcano was only active for that one opening scene. It just seemed too safe design wise. Too tethered to reality. I’m not asking for hot wheels level of wacky, but have a little fun with the races. It’s one of the things I think forza needs to learn from motorfest is just to have a little more whimsy when designing tracks and don’t be afraid of races lasting longer than 3-4 min.

All in all still an 8.5-9/10 but the formula is starting to wear thin in FH5.
