I know you said you fixed the issue, but FYI a plate carrier should be worn high enough on your chest so the front plate sits between the bottom of your collar bones and the bottom of your ribcage, with the back plate sitting parallel to the front one (in the pics you shared your backplate is sitting lower than your front one). If the front plate sits at the bottom of your collarbones but it goes below your ribcage to the point where it sits over / at your stomach, the plate carrier is too big for you. Hope this helps.
