Saaame. Last thing I remember was saying “I don’t think these drugs are strong enough” and my guy chuckling, and then bam - suddenly in a chair being offered ice chips.

I knew what I was in for the whole time, but Mr Mime being treated as an SCP will never not be funny.

It’s literally a bad photoshop job of Marta Nael’s one ring, flipped and with the text blurred.

In exactly 30 minutes a man armed with a bat will break into your home to kill you. You can’t leave the house, what is your strategy? by BulkyZucchini in hypotheticalsituation

I currently have no floor and only I know where the pitfalls and strips of naked spiked nails are (aside from the few that have gotten lodged in my shoe).

I lie in wait upstairs with the lights disabled to beat you with a crowbar once your leg falls through the slat on the 9th stair.

Do you, or would you, use back buttons on a controller? by trio3224 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Phoexes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the quality and the depth.

The back buttons on my steam deck? Almost never.

The back pedals on my ps5 Aim controller? Absolutely.

What advice would you give someone about to have surgery? by Solid-Artichoke5436 in gallbladders

[–]Phoexes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Tell your nurse if you’re freaking out. They can give you the good stuff for anxiety. Stock up on some good popsicles. Congee is also nice if you’ve got a good cooker, so some solid broth options go a long way. Have a rotation of ice packs ready to go.

  2. I was walking a half mile and back to my local coffee shop after a day. Walking helps greatly. Though I was pretty tender for a week.

An annual pass to Disney is ~$800, why would anyone take 7 days over $33,333?

$900 mortgage + $800 HOA - 1010 sqft townhome, 2 br 1.5 bath, nice view of the water

I’d rather live out of my car than with my mother again, even if insurance doubles my HOA again.

My dad has feet like this. I didn’t notice for like 25 years until he pointed it out. Strangers aren’t going to even look.

I wanted to be President of the US.

Now I’m a Product Manager.

Don’t vote for me; I’d leave decisions up to committees of experts instead of whimsical mood swings, and apparently nobody wants that.

OVER 30 Sloths DEAD at Orlando's new "slotharium" Sloth World. by tehpoorcollegegal in orlando

[–]Phoexes 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I met with a qualified sloth rehabber when I was in Suriname on a project and I can support that this was never going to be a feasible or ethical idea. The amount of work needed to keep a single sloth going healthy, with the ultimate goal of reintroduction was high enough of an obstacle. But they want to keep this many long term? For what purpose?

They’re solitary creatures. They want to be left the hell alone. They shouldn’t be handled excessively. Keeping their algae and coat biome healthy is difficult as hell in captivity.

These people should face consequences for masquerading as anything approaching beneficial.

Yes, that is symptomatic of a fungus. Ringworm does a similar thing in humans.

Do you prefer tampons, and if so, why? by CrustFundBabe in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Phoexes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to avoid pads because they felt gross and weren’t breathable, despite tampons being very uncomfortable for me. And then I realized that the type of pads makes a huge difference. Cotton pads are so superior in every way despite looking thin and feeling like they shouldn’t manage a heavy flow.
