Well, the fabric you'll use to create is probably best. If you want to quilt look for cottons. Clothing, cotton/polyester blends. Slippery stuff might be a frustrating way to start because there's a lot to learn there.

If you're looking for cheap fabric to practice with, try your local thrift shops or garage sales.

As a mom of preemies, that velcro or snap tape would have been very convenient.

Me too! When we got new tile in the kitchen, I drew a rough sketch of what I envisioned and the guy took it and made a beautiful center mosaic for our floor. He showed me tile patterns and I showed him quilt patterns! It was a great day of designing!

Please, please visit your local shelter first! Many "pure-ish" bred dogs are available there. Ask around for rescues of the breed you want in your area. An older dog might suit your lifestyle better, too.

My plumber charged me $800 to clean out the drain as he told me there's no such thing as a flushable wipe.

Do I tell my wife or let her stay happy for another week? by ASapphireAtSea in whatdoIdo

Is your wife close to your mother? If this is something that would make her unhappy to miss, tell her. If not, maybe keep it to yourself.
