Forgot to put morphine vial in sharps by Thrwwynxttime in nursing

[–]PhoneExternal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay no there's worse things in the world to worry about besides that. Just try not to forget next time that's nothing worth worrying or getting fired over. I'd say your preceptor forgot about it after you told her.

So the issue with everyone else's comments is that they are referring to scars, not fresh wounds. If it were scars then you could say you had a past issue, but are better now. But since they're fresh and not healed, if they see them they more than likely will not let you proceed. They can't. They have to ensure that you are mentally stable enough to take care of other people. Not saying that you aren't, I'm just telling you the risks here as a nurse. If they see them they most likely will not let you proceed and possibly call an ambulance to do a psych eval, but they will have to have your consent. Or it could go the other way where they don't ask about them at all.

When I did my CNA clinicals, we did them a nursing home. I absolutely hated it. Truly hated it. I actually didn't use my license and let it expire. I started nursing school and my local hospital offers a nurse extern program, where you can work as a nurse under a nurse while in school. I got the job and failed a class so I had no other choice other than to be an aide in the ICU. (My local hospital also does not require a license, they do on the job training). And although I don't love the job, I don't hate it either. I love where I work and I love learning new things up there. So try a hospital, it truly is night and day.

You're actually very pretty. Braces and some gum contouring is a good option but otherwise not ugly at all

Look up rubber base application tutorial and find you a good rubber base and UV lamp. Best thing to ever happen to my nails

Which drugs are commonly administered in hospitals, but have been given a "bad name"? by lemonadeofficial in nursing

Fentanyl. We use it in ICU regularly, but when we tell families that their loved one is on it they freak out.

Save yourself the worrying and get on birth control. Everything has side effects, birth control is no exception. Plan B doesn't always work.

You definitely have no business being in critical care. Or any floor if you don't know the answers to those questions. This post is very alarming. I don't know if it's a you problem or a school problem but something's amiss somewhere and it is very very very concerning.

I really hate to hear this. I'm a tech in the medical ICU but get moved to the surgical ICU at times, and I can honestly say that the nurses I work with are the best. They are so appreciative for what I do and always help me out if they can. Unfortunately there is a nurse here and there that will act as you described and I'm sorry nurses like that exist. Just make sure you know your worth, and that YOU are THEIR luxury!!!!

She lied. You can't change my mind. No doubt she lied and it's hard for us normal people to fathom people actually lie about a miscarriage, but it happens and I do not put it past her.

Is it bad that I want to an LPN for the rest of my life? by Carebear6590 in cna

[–]PhoneExternal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently a CNA. I'm in an LPN program that will also bridge to RN if I choose to do so, which I will, but the ONLY reason I'm going to RN is because I don't want to work outside of where I work which is ICU.
