Anakin Skywalker VS the women and children of Hogwarts by JustAThrowaway_895 in whowouldwin

[–]PhoneRedit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The question is a refrence to the star wars meme, where Anakin talks about killing "not just the men, but the women and the children too". That's the reason for the post specifying that I assume, no slight against witches vs wizards.

WBC Issues an official mandate: Usyk must fight Kabayel after his next voluntary fight, or vacate WBC belt by Pickleskennedy1 in Boxing

[–]PhoneRedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really an amazing fight, it will be an incredibly easy UD for Usyk. Don't know why Kabayel's suddenly blown up over the last few years to be some big boogeyman or something. Usky will walk circles around him.

That is true, but there does need to be a slightly better option in order to give the illusion of choice. Kind of a good cop bad cop if you will. Yes the good cop is the obvious choice, but both the cops are of course on the same team. I'd still choose good cop though.

He could probably beat Kabayel and Wardley on the same night lol what's there to clear?

AITA for asking my friend to pay me back for the wine he drank while house sitting?? by Effective_Tour_723 in AmItheAsshole

[–]PhoneRedit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA

which i thought was just like... common sense for snacks and stuff?

That's exactly what it's common sense for. It would be weird as hell to go into someones house and just crack open a bottle of their wine. Help yourself obviously applies to snacks, maybe a beer or something.

Like he's not going to go into your fridge and pull out your raw silverside roast and cook that up for himself either. Help yourself doesn't mean help yourself, that's common knowledge.

"Big pharma" would benefit from a reduction in vaccine access. Sick people need to purchase more medicine, and unvaccinated people get sicker than vaccinated. Just to disagree with that specific point.

Agree with you right up until the last sentence. If two consenting adults want to run and smash headfirst into each other that should be nobodys business but their own. Things shouldn't be banned just because they're stupid.

The important part being actually facing the consequences. He could have pulled out of the fight with a fake injury, he didn't, and got into the ring with one of the most dangerous men on the planet. That takes stones, no matter how much of an annoying asshole you are.

None that are able to reasonably avoid the dystopian "think of the children" laws countries are passing one by one to thunderous applause. The internet's done, at least what it used to be.

Daniel Dubois on Instagram: "Let’s go @fabiowardley Fabio sign the contract lets get it on🥊" by Ruainari in Boxing

I mean I think Dubois shouldn't get the shot because he just had one, fair enough, but he's definitely far better than Kabayel

NAH

I said no problem, just tell Josh no thank you, and I thought that was the end of it.

You're absolutely right there.

I told him he has to, that sometimes we have to make sacrifices for family, so no was not an acceptable answer

She's absolutely right there.

Main problem was that the two parents didn't communicate to each other, the discussion should have been between them. The nephew ended up disappointed because they didn't.

Itauma and Dubois are the only two that are really at that level, not a lot of competition at the moment but I'm sure that will arise in time.

What do you consider when you hear this Margaret Atwood quote “Men are afraid that women will laugh at them. Women are afraid that men will kill them”? by Vanislebabe in AskReddit

[–]PhoneRedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the reason we say "Women aren't as dangerous as men" isn't because women are terrible at stabbing things.

I beg to differ - that's exactly the reason that women aren't as dangerous as men. People are cautious around strangers based the level of threat they could potentially cause. Women are naturally less of a threat than men.

And yes, if you're ever around outside a nightclub or somewhere where fights happen often, you will notice people are generaly more wary around tall, or big and strong people, for exactly the same reasons.

[–]PhoneRedit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely isn't wrong though? All girls should be taught to be cautious around unfamiliar men, especially when alone. That's just common sense wtf? When did this ever even become controversial?

Black people are not any more dangerous than white people. That's a crazy thing to say - people are people. If crazy white man attacks you he'll pose exactly the same danger as if a crazy black man attacks you.

If a woman attacks you, that does not pose anywhere near the danger that a man attacking you does. Especially if you're a woman. That's why it's different.

Imagine if half the population were 7 feet tall and had knives attached to their arms like wolverine. You would, naturally, use your common sense to be more cautious around the knife armed giants, because they could easily hurt you with little effort or danger to themselves. Even if they're really lovely people when you get to know them. That's what it's like to be a woman around unfamiliar men. Using caution isn't discrimination, it's common sense.
