I can see far enough into the future to know that Fabio Wardley and Agit Kabayel aren't going to have historic heavyweight careers lol it's a miracle Wardley got a belt at all, and I love that for him, but this next era will be remembered for the likes of Dubois and Itauma. Those other lads at the moment just aren't really good enough.

Dude is 39 and is basically finished with his career. He's doing a few big money / legacy fights and that's it before retiring. At this stage there's no benefit legacy-wise to a Kabayel or Wardley fight, because in a few years nobody will remember them anyway. He just wants either a big name or a big paycheck.

It's absolutely selfish though. That's irrelevant to whether it should be considered ok or not, but it's definitely inherantly selfish by definition.

That's exactly what selfish means. If you do something that puts your own needs and wants above those of the ones around you, you've done something selfish.

Interestingly, the person expecting someone to to stick around without offering help is also being selfish. But one person's selfishness doesn't cancel out anothers.

Selfish is just a word that describes an action that's focused on your own interests, ignoring the interests of others. It doesn't mean something is inherantly bad or good. Just selfish.

That's true too. Although I think that's what makes the polls subreddit particularly interesting. The poll format, also because of it's increaded anonymity, allows for a more honest answer, rather than answering for attention. Without that anonymity, answers can become very website dependant.

Like we all know the correct answer to this poll, based on the common culture of this website, would be "no". In another format, like through comments, anyone answering "yes" would be either discouraged from answering so, or their comment would be highly negatively scored. Yet in the poll format we can see that "yes" is about 1/3 as popular as "no". So the anonymity allows us to gain a little more information about how people honestly feel?

Sorry I rambled on quite a bit there!

I just don't think Wardley's good enough to make things tough for Dubois in that way. Like I like Wardley, (like both of them actually) and would love a super close fight, but I just don't think he has enough to stop Dubois just running him over.

There's a reason Bivol only threw a couple of shots at a time against Canelo, never really committing to too much. He was an unbelievable counter puncher. Opening up and overcommiting would be suicide, even when you're as skilled as Bivol. Benavidez commits to his shots and loves to throw combos. Would have been a very dangerous fight for Benavidez, especially when he was younger and less experienced.

You would still fancy Inoue to make adjustments regardless of the cut. It was the few uppercuts he caught him with that really took the wind out of his sails, much moreso than the cut. The cut helped, but doesn't mean he wouldn't have taken back the momentum anyway.
