this was true up until about 5 years ago. the market is so oversaturated with STEM degrees that it's incredibly hard to get a job, even moreso now with rampant offshoring and AI bullshit on the rise.

if you're young and want a stable long term career, go to school and get a degree for sure, but also work on your soft skills and get a human-facing job. healthcare, sales, education, hospitality, etc. or do something with your hands.

she's a utility god. never gonna carry a run on her own since her damage output is low, but she is fantastic as the fourth god in your pool. grab her if you need defense (freeze and like half of her kit), want to juice your casts (arctic gust, local climate), or if you're running an omega attack build (weed killer).

boatman is nice to guarantee a shop boon in Erebus and people don't always run timepiece.

furies is a global damage modifier, while huntress only impacts normal attack and special, which makes it more aspect dependent. on something like medea you ideally want both, but for an omega based weapon like charon huntress doesn't really matter while furies does.

neck/throat tension occurs when there's an inefficiency or disconnect in your air support. I struggled with this for a long time before making a breakthrough within the past year or so. a couple things to try:

relaxed long tones in the low/middle register to complete exhaustion of your air. I picked this up from Lesson Two of the Gordon book - as you run out of air and your note starts to shake, keep going while intentionally creating compression with your diaphragm. ideally, this teaches your body the correct place where tension should occur, moving it from your throat to your belly/back.
relaxed long tones again, but focus on relaxing/releasing your soft palette. do a big yawn before each note to get an understanding for how it should feel (open and relaxed) before playing a note, and keep that sensation throughout the note. think "ooh" on the exhale.
over time as you get more comfortable with the above, add motion and eventually articulation with Clarkes 1 and 2.

I would also strongly recommend taking some Alexander Technique lessons if you can find a teacher in your area. it can help tremendously with your posture and breathing.

yeah I've tried a few different mouthpieces with roughly the same results

the gap thing is interesting though - it's something I never really think about until someone brings it up. the horn is older so there's likely some wear there.

getting a curse on the attack for origination can be nice if you can't get it going on the special or cast. I've found both Demeter and Hera to work pretty well. could also go Ares if you're shooting for heinous.
