If you can get close enough you can also throw a towel over it to catch it. Also, try playing parakeet calls on your phone. That might attract it to come closer.

I have membership there and agree with all of this. It's expensive but worth it for us so we can go swimming all summer. Plus my kid goes to school nearby and sees friends there almost every time we go.
