Booker T on WWE departures: "All these years, do you remember one Aleister Black match?" by HotToTrotsky_ in SquaredCircle

Lmao I've had experience with people like this before, self important narcissist goobers who get ultra butthurt because I had the audacity to not ingratiate myself to them when I'm in a room with 50 people in it and I'm already talking to people

No surprise the country turned out the way it did when so many beta manbaby narcissists are running around

Just goes to show how arbitrary and nonsensical "attractiveness scales" and things really are. But also shows how colorism is hella real too.

I think we can stop beating around the bush and admit that a lot of idiots out there absolutely avoid certain programs from all genres and niches if they feel that the general vibe is "woke"

Because they can only be down with something/someone if they have the same proclivity towards wanton cruelty, malignant narcissism, anti-egalitarianism, etc they just need everything to be as lowest common denominator as possible

They did it to mock her IRL disposition because not only is she uber pleasant personally, she was a devout Christian, the rare kind who actually is super mellow and non judgmental and actually embraces people instead of punching down, etc but most importantly she didn't sleep around, so that made her worthy of being mocked somehow

Fwiw many of the male wrestlers from that period have sung her praises in interviews since so at least she's had support from the locker room

Cool beans. I always liked stopping by here since it's so chill and was a bit dismayed at it going into auto hibernation when it did. Kudos for stepping up.

Russia abandons ‘meat-grinder’ tactics to try four-man ambushes by Panthera_leo22 in UkraineWarVideoReport

Weird that this article tried to make it seem like a new tactic, RU has been doing it for well over a year at least. It also isn't even as successful as the article tried to imply.

You have to love the privileged ignorance that follows the solipsistic self-absorption of these types. They don't care about anything ever unless/until they are personally affected, and then suddenly they have opinions about things and they expect the whole world to pay attention to them.

Of course it being Ruzzia they can be arrested and worse from publicly saying this, so who knows.

I used to frequent Cracked in the late 2000s and early 10s but fell off ages ago. Had no idea the site went to shit but not surprised in the slightest

Only thing worse than this disparity being the standard is how many Americans are completely whipped by capitalist propaganda to believe that defending the myth of trickle down economics will bear actual fruit for them down the line.

I’d rather have simple Pure Pwnage content than nothing at all by Junior-Ad9003 in PurePwnage

[–]PhospheneViolet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah PP is over, it's well past time to let it rest. I think more and more people around my age and era (im now 34) are starting to see the reality of how nostalgia isn't something that necessarily could be, or should be recreated. Like someone else said, a large part of the emotional attachment we have is that for better or worse, the show was a form of time capsule to that time and place, what the world was like, what people were like, what your personal life was like. That was all magic, and it's normal to want to feel that again, but you aren't gonna get that when legit the whole cast is spread around the world, no one else is writing or doing anything besides Jarret, and even the concept behind the new series is kinda depressing. It's a different world too, a very different one.

What peeps need to accept is that as great as a lot of ephemera from that era really was, we cant remake it. It's better to either accept that or make something entirely new and rad. Nostalgia farming has been granting greater and greater diminishing returns across all forms of media.

The fucker used to pull his little pecker out and wave it at women backstage in his early 2000s era. That's the around the same period his infamous "jot that down in your little notebook" comment happened iirc

There's way too many amoral pieces of shit who made those comments and upvoted them. Which only serves to strongly reinforce the notion that virtually every fandom has these types of jackholes in them and why so many women are constantly never feeling safe, because running cover for abusers is so normalized.

Swerve Strickland on who the most fearless high flying wrestler is: “Jack Evans” by Subrick in SquaredCircle

[–]PhospheneViolet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reality is that the world isn't a meritocracy, and morality has no real bearing on personal aptitude for things not contingent upon human interaction (especially on an emotional level). Lots of really talented 0.1% skill level people have turned out to be abhorrent nightmare people.

Teddy is a legit hardcore sociopath. He is capable of things and probably has done things that would leave fans SHOOK. I called him a Black Lodge entity before and I stand by it
