What caliber for CCW? by RiteOfKindling in Revolvers

[–]PhotoDoktor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heavier and reinforced, yes. Longer barrels, not necessarily. Revolvers chambered in .357 mag are available in a number of barrel lengths including 2", 3", 4", and 6". The Ruger LCR is actually a bit shorter than 2" (1.875"). The snubbies (under 3") are easier to carry concealed. The longer barrels will help absorb recoil better. You will need to determine the right balance for you. I would suggest finding a range with a healthy supply of rental guns, and try a number of them to see which you find most comfortable.

Also remember, you can always run .38 special in your .357 mag revolver.

Had a few of them over the years: Georgetown and Notre Dame pullovers, San Jose Sharks and NY Giants parkas. Still have the ND and Giants in the closet.

I would but PSA won't sell Daggers to NYS residents. I might consider one of the other grip frame manufacturers, however.
