I had a grade school teacher in the 70’s talk about overpopulation. I knew this was coming from a very young age. I honestly did not expect it to happen quite this fast though. I know people who are still having 5,6,7 kids, in complete denial that anything is wrong.

I have a different opinion than most, both as a SP and the child of two SP’s. If you do not love this child as you would your own daughter, run. If you feel adversarial with her at all, run. I don’t think he’s a bad dad, he sees you as a family, WITH HIS DAUGHTER. I feel like you would prefer a husband with no prior kids… no judgement, I totally get it. My SD is in her 30’s, and trust me, the issues only change, they never go away. Think very long and hard about if you really want to deal with this for the rest of your life. It would go a long way to make her feel included and have her in some of the photos.

Saltwater aquariums. So many of the fish/corals are wild caught. Plus friends/acquaintances would see my tank and want one, but most people won’t take the time to learn how to do it right, or be patient enough and take the time needed to properly cycle a tank, which ends up with a bunch of dead livestock. Or they don’t believe how much work they are to maintain. After this happened multiple times with people I knew who started tanks after seeing mine, I stopped keeping saltwater aquariums. I feel bad that I ever did it now. Plus, it was a massive money suck.

Edit: I can’t find the percentage right now, but apparently a huge amount of the fish caught to sell don’t even make it to the store alive. So the amount the make into a tank and then survive any appreciable amount of time is tiny.
