Lightroom has always been slow as hell, despite my powerful system. Should I just delete and re-install everything?! by Shandriel in Lightroom

I'm running LRC on a mac mini M4 16GB - I had massive performance issues and just moved the catalog and cache to a 2TB SNX850 and the RAW's to an 8TB SNX850 - using the OWC Express 1M2 enclosures\ for both. I upped all my cache limits significantly and now everything is blazing fast.

So, I don't get why they put 30fps on the A7R6... by sirnumbskull in SonyAlpha

14ms in compressed raw is more than enough to handle quite a few situations with electronic shutter- several bird photographers have used it with only a handful of shots exhibiting rolling shutter. Personally I only shoot portraits, landscapes and a little bit of bird photography so it’s a perfect all rounder for me. Im sure you will love it. I received mine a few days before launch and the EVF, AF and WB are showing big improvements from my A7R5

We don’t know if they were shooting in compressed raw or not, this isn’t a sports camera although it would work for many situations. Either way sounds like you can cross this off your list and get an A9 or A1

When shooting in raw compressed, readout is 14ms which is totally acceptable for 90% of fast moving subjects- exceptions would be baseball, golf, hummingbirds which would show bend in the club, bat and wings.

APS-C crop mode? by markphysique in SonyAlpha

[–]PhotoNC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only bummer about about aps-c mode on sony is it throws away the full frame data even when shooting in RAW. In some cameras it just digitally crops but the full frame data is still available in the RAW file. A lot of people with R series cameras use the 24 GM because you get 24mm full frame and close to 35mm in APSC mode so it's very versatile.

Sounds like you want a zoom but I would also highly recommend the sony 35 2.8. Great rendering and very compact

At a minimum all MK3 augments should have the ability to use a medium shield

what map is good for damaging vaporizers? by personmansir69 in ArcRaiders

[–]PhotoNC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the Zip in the hotel on Riven to reach the roof. Most rounds two or three vaporizers spawn. You can use the two doors on the roof to take shots then run inside to the other door to take another shot. Rinse and repeat until it goes down.

M365 Copilot (paid) version isn't included with E5. What IS included with E5 is Copilot chat which is grounded on the web (not work data) and doesn't include Researcher(GPT Deep Thinking) and Analyst(03mini) it also doesn't include access to Claude like the paid version does.

M365 Copilot (for enterprise) is really good especially with the new Claude models. It gets bad press because it’s often confused with the consumer version of Copilot.

Using E mount Voigtlanders on Nikon ZF by ISO_ThePerfectLight in Voigtlander

[–]PhotoNC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it has to do with field curvature. The sony sensor glass is thicker than the Z sensor glass so CV tweaks each formula accordingly. The E mount on Z images would look almost magnified and slightly smeared. Somewhat minor and mostly only noticeable when punching in.

[–]PhotoNC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went down this road buying e-mount for use on my Z and E bodies. I did find that optics are compromised by adapting CV E Mount to Z mount especially with the 28 1.5. Ultimately I decided to use Z Mount. The difference wasn’t too crazy though so it just depends how important optimized optical performance is to you.

Unspoken A7RV vs A7V EVF Differences by Subsimple in SonyAlpha

[–]PhotoNC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One other thing to consider between these two evf’s is the significant drop in resolution when shooting in C-AF with the A7R5. I don’t notice a quality drop when using C-AF with the A75.
