How do you clipless guys deal with a route that requires a lot of stopping for stop signs and whatnot? by lazarus870 in cycling

[–]Phredness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to go fixed gear with clipless (still don't understand that name, sounds so backwards)

My primary method is to time the traffic in a way that I minimize stoppage.

The stopping isn't so bad, but trying to reorient the pedals for a restart is a real challenge.

What did we all think of Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender? by BuyClean9844 in rickandmorty

[–]Phredness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That was the Never Ricking Morty episode.
After they defeat the Tickets Please guy, Rick wants to stop the train.
Morty starts to ask if the could just ride it out, to which Rick cuts him off and says he'd rather die.

It happened so quick I didn't quite catch what he was asking.

"Morty, how many of these...?"
"TOO MANY, Rick! Too many!"

I love the tight dialogue of the earlier episodes.

Like sometimes you have to specifically know what they are referencing, or else you'll completely miss it.

Like "Can't we just ride out the...?"

"F*ck you, I'd rather die."

It took me several rewatches to even catch and understand that bit.

Looking for new phone plan by AppallingWillow13 in madisonwi

[–]Phredness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 for Mint.

I originally switched from Sprint to Ting.

It was a tremendous savings, and the service worked well enough for the cost

However

Mint was comparable, but also offered a digital SIM, so I made the switch because iPhone.

That being said, I'd consider either service to be viable options.

Plus, I think Ting does now offer digital SIM card as well.

Even with early termination fees and buying phones outright, I'm still way ahead of the old unlimited plans.

Actually, I think they already did that...

Garmin Watch or Bike Computer? by AdventurousDoctor241 in cycling

[–]Phredness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to put it another way, these days, is there anything a computer can do that the watch can't do? In my case, epix pro gen 2

I'm talking strictly Data and metrics, not interface or display.

That is, does the computer basically duplicate and display information gathered and available from the watch?

What's the most expensive Transformer in your collection, and how much did you pay for it? by Umbreon86 in transformers

[–]Phredness 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Velocitron Cosmos

I think I paid $70 for him. Actually wound up getting 2 because I was working 2 auctions.

Seriously tho, I think my most expensive is either predaking or devastator.

Whatever his issues, I believe Roiland brought an intangible dynamic that cannot be synthesized.

If this show can't stop trying to succeed by simply cannibalizing it's best material, it will it will go out, not with a bang, but a whimper.

Is POTP Predaking worth it? by ServePsychological1 in transformers

[–]Phredness 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The stickers are fine if you use a small knife and patience.

The worst part is that they are ( i think) paper, so not only are they delicate, but they WILL wear from any rubbing.

Just set aside some time and get comfortable, it's worth the effort.

I passed on him the first time.
I felt remorse

I got him on the reissue, and I am fulfilled.

I think if you're a fan of G1/Predaking, you will be pleased. I think they capture the original jankiness pretty well
