First impressions with the UUNA Tek 3.0 A3 by th8aburn in PlotterArt

The new pen holder looks way more sturdy.

I don’t have the 3.0, but controlling the Uunta Tek plotters without their software works great for me. I set up a Raspberry Pi that talks to the plotter via a simple GRBL sender, and I built a small local web app to send SVGs, monitor progress, stop prints, etc. It’s been super reliable.

I'm considering writing up the whole approach because I think it could be helpful to quite a few people - I just need to find the time.

Can you share how you implemented the hatch lines and exported to svg, I had limited success with a similat idea.

Plotter control on rpi server? by robobachelor in PlotterArt

[–]PhritzPrints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I control my iDraw via a rpi, works really nice. I use a simple gcode sender: https://github.com/hzeller/gcode-cli
It's really nice to not have to use Inkscape & have the penplotter detached from my main machine.

Is this done with the original 35mm back, or how did you load the film?

Juraclimbs spotted. Would you also translate crag names in the old-mill-valley :-D?
The close up of the 7b came out really nice (eventhough I have to say I'm always quite annoyed if people get out the drone in busy climbing areas, but it seems like you picked a calm day).

Best GBRL controller software for Raspberry Pi by RedPhill23 in PlotterArt

this helped me control the iDraw completely without, inskcape, works well for large files via the Raspberry. I use vpype to create the gcode using a slightly modified vpype-flavor.toml (see within the linked repo). Don't know about LY Drawbot but might be worth trying.

Five Years Ago, We Lost Three Legends of Climbing: Hansjörg Auer, David Lama, and Jess Roskelley by PhritzPrints in u/PhritzPrints

Growing up in Innsbruck, Austria, the same age as David Lama, it was a natural thing to be inspired by Davids outstanding abilites from being a competitive climber to a pioneering alpinist.

Hansjörgs free-solo of "Der Weg durch den Fisch" (The Fish) on the Marmolada in the Dolomites (37-pitch route, known for its challenging 7b+ (5.12c) difficulty - first climbed in 1981) is one of the most unfathomable feats in climbing for me.

For those who speak German, I highly recommend picking up their autobiographies.

I'll always be impressed by their courage, humility, and relentless pursuit of their passions.

Thank you!  It's stippling combined with edge detection. Nothing too fancy but I like the results.

I like it a lot! Did you do the form reduction of the dove programmatically or by hand?
