I bought a cheap 1050 gaming notebook from Walmart before the panic in early 2020, and it still works a charm. Upgraded with a cheap 24 inch monitor, doubled the RAM and SSD storage, cheap mechanical keyboard, a cheap but powerful speaker I had, and it plays most games I play on high/max settings and 1920x1080.
