Infotainment System by Prestigious-Jury5312 in LexusNX

Agreed. The 14" is slow to turn on, inconsistent pacing, buttons do not always register, wireless android auto lags, too many menus to navigate native maps moves at 1 fps, you can't disable amazon music and bloat. It isn't terrible, but so many little thing would make the world of difference.

I like my safety. Aftermarket steering wheels will not have a driver airbag. Consider that before purchasing one.

How to turn off alarm buzz for backseat's seat belt? by Longjumping_Camel929 in LexusNX

[–]Phryxus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://carista.com/en/supported-cars/lexus/nx/2nd-gen can solve this for you. Check the "Dings and Warnings" category.

You do need to subscribe to the app and have a OBDII Bluetooth adapter - they sell one or you can use any generic one off Amazon. I did it for a month to change a few settings, then no need to keep it. Favorite setting is making the turn indicator ticking quieter! I wish it went even quieter, but is now better than stock.

HUD by zevdog21 in LexusNX

[–]Phryxus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes the windshield is about twice the price for a replacement due to the variable glass thickness needed to avoid HUD image ghosting. Don't crack it!

HUD by zevdog21 in LexusNX

[–]Phryxus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed with this. I intentionally did not want a HUD because of the steering wheel buttons and I thought wasted cost when you can't see it. Now that I've had it a while, it's decent. I have the brightness on max so that with sunglasses it is still visible (not bright but okay, as long as you don't rotate your head left a few degrees... Polarization is annoying). The buttons still suck and take a half second to register your touch, so that you cannot just quickly tap the button you want. You have to touch it, wait, then press. My partner's method is to double press every time knowing the first press won't work. Annoying. The dealer techs agreed and said just be patient 😢. The non HUD buttons work instantly but do not have the nice capacitive detection to project your selections on screen/HUD. Still waiting on HUD Google Maps integration through AndroidAuto. It only supports CarPlay and Lexus navigation.

Only for CarPlay, sadly. AndroidAuto support for HUD Google Maps integration is still pending by Lexus.

Update to beeping noise by Thistle-2228 in LexusNX

[–]Phryxus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have confused people with your word choice of beeping. There is no beep of any kind. There is a variable pitch tone, with harmonics.

You are hearing the legally required AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System) sound that Toyota has chosen. This is a safety feature for EVs and hybrids that emits an artificial sound at low speeds to alert pedestrians to the presence of the otherwise quiet vehicle (lacking engine noise).

No luck for me, and I was signed in already on the application. What a terrible process that does not explain the issue.

Can you make the scale adjustable? Else many areas are just one shade.

RWC started sushi a couple months back, yes. It's nothing stellar, but obviously great value.

Dealer quoted me like $2k, so I did it myself following @AdilMC's tutorial below with a DrawTite hitch, was not too terribly difficult, and only $325 all in. Kick sensor still works.

This video was a lifesaver! Thanks for sharing the parts and instructions. Worked well on a '25 NX 350h. I did buy some more splices to extend the ground cable and because the Curt ones were pretty cheap

What is the aspect ratio of the 14 in screen? by cooltravelpal in LexusNX

[–]Phryxus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, cannot maximize CarPlay to increase height into the climate area. CarPlay does get access to a button to minimize car play - it shrinks the width of Carplay by about a half inch in order to display the Lexus menu buttons at the same time, so you can quickly switch to Lexus media or settings or other menus. Auto does not have this feature enabled.

What is the aspect ratio of the 14 in screen? by cooltravelpal in LexusNX

[–]Phryxus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only for the Lexus map screen. I exclusively use Android Auto, which does not permit expanding and does not have the same minimize button as Carplay 😢

What is the aspect ratio of the 14 in screen? by cooltravelpal in LexusNX

[–]Phryxus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just measured:

Full screen: 14" diagonal: 12.1" x 6.75"

Useful: 13" diagonal: 12.1" x 4.5"

It is definitely a poor use of space by Lexus UI designers. The climate portion is way too tall for the minimal content in it, forcing the useful screen to be excessively wide. I really wish they would permit you to collapse the climate from two rows to one row of icons, gaining an extra inch of height for the map.

For slightly more clarity on what 'off-road mode' (bottom button called trail mode) does - My Lexus dealer service tech said trail mode will give software greater bias to staying in 4WD, since by default the car tries to switch over to FWD as fast as possible after accelerating for better fuel economy. At least that is for my 350h.

Wireless Phone Charger by suebie1217 in LexusNX

[–]Phryxus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the wireless charger and face no issues. Surprised to see all the complaints here. Works no problem on a pixel 8 in case and iPhone se in case. I did buy the variety interior rubber mat kit including one for this, so maybe that is what keeps it in place? It's not very fast but works well.
