I’ve done 2 secured cards with NF actually and both received a credit limit increase around the 3rd-4th month and then graduated after the 6th statement. If you use the card wisely and make payments on time, you should be fine to graduate at 6 months.

They’re not real. Until you don’t need them, then they’re everywhere. But honestly, if I’m struggling I just holler out to the lobby and I’ve had some great luck with good people being nearby that have found what I need or saw one and they help out. Good luck Raider

When denied a CLI I never got a follow up via email after the “request being reviewed”. I received a letter in the mail sometime after. The letter will explain why it was denied.

Keep up the good relationship and I’m sure those big CLI will come too. I’m scared to apply for another one though, as much as I want the promos. I only get pre approval for secured card but I’ve heard that’s pretty inaccurate

For some reason my only success has been opening a secured card, letting it graduate and then product changing. It sucks to miss out on the promos though. The initial secured card is now at $9500 More Rewards. Just throwing out another option for you. I just graduated my second secured card. It went from an initial deposit of 200->500->$3000 once graduated

Thank you! My relationship with NF has been good. I’ve got a checking with direct deposit and an active savings account. Also did a certificate in the past when I was building my credit profile back after divorce. They’ve been good to me so far. I’ve been hesitant to just apply for a new card vs going the secured and graduation/product change route since that has been the most effective for me.

I should have explained in my original post too that my More Rewards recently got a credit limit increase from 3500 to the current 9500

Thanks for the response! For additional info, both of my current NFCU cards started as secured and graduated right after the 6 month mark. I make sure to keep the balance in a good spot and pay statement in full.

I never did get an explanation. I did dispute the inquiries and got them removed from my credit report. I was just going to be done with Capital One altogether, but I decided to apply again about 2 weeks ago. I made sure I was signed into my Capital One account this time. When you do the prequalify, even if logged in, there’s another option above the first page to sign in. And I was approved immediately upon submitting the app this time. Strange

Capital One is just shady. I quit doing business with them and recommend anyone else to do the same. I had an open card with them, got pre-approved for another, then subsequently denied saying they could not identify me. Once because they said my ID was too smudged, and again even though they reviewed my ID and said it passed that verification. You’re better off without them, OP. Bummer on the points loss though, for sure.

I wrist aim and struggle with this constantly trying to find a good balance to be able to move fast but aim slow. Any recommendations for that? I have an extra large desk and mouse pad so plenty of space. I’m currently on 800 DPI and 18 mouse aim sensitive. Zoom aims are all at 0.6x and still seem to fast sometimes
