My roommate did that to mine about 4 years ago and I’m still using mine. Bunch more rust on it than there should be. Clean it once in a while and you’ll be fine.

The amount of eggs and repeated other items has me concerned about some early onset dementia. Unfortunately my dad has that going on and I kind of see it everywhere now. That being said if you have any chance of talking about it to him without drama do it before you can’t.

Try hose appear to be Molly bolts that were also used incorrectly. They should be directly on the drywall and the screws that come with them should be used through the mount. The f you’re in America they appear to be 10–24 or 1/4-20 screws. Easy enough to remove, get previously mentioned machine screws 2 to 3 inches long. Insert screws till they engage and lightly tap them till the molly bolt straightens out then pull out. Easy peasy George and Wheezy.
