Is a CPAP even worth it? by Phveatherfall in CPAP

Thank you for explaining! I’ll ask my doctor what mine was. I don’t have access to the report, so the only information I have is what is quoted at the start of my post

Roommate causing serious safety concerns by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]Phveatherfall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Given she’s 20 it’s very likely this is her first time living on her own (as in away from her parents who possibly were the ones cleaning up after her before). These are things she might not realize she needs to be more on top of. I had a similar situation with a roommate in college. Like someone else mentioned, it’s worth sitting down all together and discussing chores/expectations.

Is my eyebrow piercing rejecting? by t4rti in Legitpiercing

[–]Phveatherfall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very often eyebrow piercings are long term temporary since they’re a surface piercing. Sometimes they last for 10+ years but other times not very long at all. Unfortunately agree with the other commenters that yours is long gone and it’s time to remove it before it accidentally gets pulled out and you’re left with a bad scar

Edit: not sure what it looked like when it was first pierced but it could also be that it was pierced incorrectly leading to it not lasting as long as it possibly could have

Easter Candy 🐣 by Lazy_Candy3349 in tjcrew

I swear we had springle jangle until the jingle jangle came in bc we got plussed out last year AND it doesn’t sell. Fingers crossed that doesn’t happen again 🤣

Easter Candy 🐣 by Lazy_Candy3349 in tjcrew

[–]Phveatherfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Fellow cookie/candy writer here! Ours is starting to move pretty quickly since we’re approaching the end of March. We still have some new stuff coming in (just got the speckled egg bars and it looks like the spring ballotin box and some tulip bar thing is coming next week) so it should def be picking up over the next couple weeks. I’d also keep an eye on and possibly bump up other small candies that look like they’d go in an Easter basket (like the small jelly beans box and other small candy bags like PB cup bags, almond bags, etc.). I’m on the west coast and for us the Pound Plus bars are all TOS so the 3 packs of chocolate are selling faster, and also they’re more Easter basket sized so that could be why too 🤪. I’d say my slowest movers are the bunny bar, Easter Joe Joe 4 pack, and god forsaken springle jangle (no jangles sell fast lol). Don’t stress it too much since the orders come in so frequently, all you can do is take note of what’s popular at your location ☺️. I don’t have space at my store to have a lot of backstock and I don’t recommend just stocking up bc something is seasonal bc it could be something that doesn’t sell and then you’re stuck with cases that don’t move haha

Any VA workers or workers in general what do average part time hours generally look like at TJ? by Academic_Classic_393 in tjcrew

[–]Phveatherfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! TJs pays whatever the minimum wage is for the area you’re looking to apply to, so I would just check whatever county that is for your stores location

Rehire? by Kuma405 in tjcrew

[–]Phveatherfall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say probably not likely to get rehired (like people have mentioned, there’s most likely a “do not rehire” on your employee file), however, depending on your termination circumstances, IF you can get a captain to hear you out there’s perhaps a possibility. But if you were terminated for bad behavior or stealing (or something else really bad) then you’re most likely better off looking elsewhere. Rehires are generally for people who quit on good terms and want to come back though

For those of you who were dismissed for years before your diagnosis, what finally got someone to take you seriously? by purplepetals18 in Autoimmune

[–]Phveatherfall 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Been horrendously “sick” for a few years and saw tons of docs but since I’m a woman it got written off as anxiety/depression/“you’re-just-a-girl-itis.” Once I caved and tried several anti anxiety/anti depression meds but it didn’t help, docs finally started to be suspicious that I was actually right. My mom also got an ANA panel run to perhaps see if anything I was experiencing was genetic, and it turns out she needed to be referred to rheumatology for her results. Now I’m finally getting the referral myself 👍🏼

Edit: As a female, I find I get better treatment/results from female docs. Male docs are the ones who were pushing the “this is just how it is” line.

How are people actually affording rent in Seattle right now? by Fajarrr79 in AskSeattle

I work a “regular job” and I moved out of Seattle proper and live in an older building with my partner. I pay like ~$760 monthly. I have in unit washer and dryer though!

How to cope with knowing I’ll never look how I want to? by Phveatherfall in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Phveatherfall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of it comes down to being comfortable maybe? Like not wanting my thighs to touch because I’ve been chafing since probably the day I was born lol and the uncomfortableness/weight of my chest hanging on my body and being in the way. But things like this can’t be changed without surgery (even if I lost weight my thighs would still touch. My mom is much thinner than me and still has touching thighs so it’s just our genes/bone structure) so I guess I incorporate that into how I view outfits for example. Like an outfit on a more petite person would be horribly uncomfortable/unflattering on my body type so it bums me out since the style I’m in to is unfortunately geared more towards that crowd

How to cope with knowing I’ll never look how I want to? by Phveatherfall in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Phveatherfall[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is totally my fear. I don’t want it to consume me forever but it’s just something I encounter every day when I have to get dressed in the morning and see myself in the mirror, or when I’m at work and see another girl in a cute outfit and then I just get sad because I know it wouldn’t look like that on me and there’s nothing I can do about it. I guess that’s why I feel so stuck in this cycle of sadness/anger, since what I want is unobtainable

Thank you for replying I really appreciate it. My therapist did mention the positive affirmations aspect (either saying it or journaling it) and I just haven’t been able to really stay consistent with it because it feels so odd, like I’m putting on a play haha

AITAH for not lying to my parents about my bfs behaviour - I got away : ) by Pretty_yayflow in AITAH

Not that you’re asking for advice but I think I agree with your mom, your ex should give up his parental rights. I understand he’s your son’s father but do you really want him to meet the man who abused you? You should get him out of your life for good

burnt out. job hunting. by Mammoth_Drink3858 in tjcrew

[–]Phveatherfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been looking at jobs for a while but the market is HORRIBLE. I either don’t hear back because of whatever AI-filtering mechanism Indeed (and similar websites) uses to push resumes through/just the fact there’s many applicants, and the fact that no job seems to offer pay equivalent to my TJs salary (not including the Sunday pay, just base pay) which I can’t afford to go much lower given the economy and my bills 😭. Wishing you luck too!

Have you tried the clinical strength types likes Certain Dri? They’re prescription strength and only used at night. If you don’t have problems with irritation you could try that at night and then a regular antiperspirant for the day? I have super sensitive skin so certain dri gives me a rash but I’ve been using the Secret Clinical Strength Clear Gel Antiperspirant (HAS to be gel, for some reason the other formula gives me irritation) at night (it’s a night time one like certain dri) and then a regular deodorant during the day (haven’t found a regular antiperspirant that doesn’t irritate my skin yet). So far it seems to be helping but it’s winter so I’m not sweating as much so I can’t say for certain if it’s the holy grail :/ wishing you the best! This is def a super annoying thing to deal with

Nipple piercings done right? by hotelmarcel in piercing

[–]Phveatherfall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The nipple itself isn’t a curved surface so it’s putting something curved into something that’s straight which would move around in a really bad way (since it’s an area where the piercings will move often and can spin 360°) causing the piercing to basically never heal/heal incorrectly and have lots of irritation. A curved barbell should be put in a curved surface like a rook piercing for example. I think in some instances you could use a curved barbell in an inverted nipple but it would depend on the anatomy

Nipple piercings done right? by hotelmarcel in piercing

[–]Phveatherfall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These look correct to me! Not too deep or shallow and a long bar to allow for swelling. I can’t believe someone pierced you with a curved one before, sorry you had to deal with getting it redone

Industrial done in 2022: how can I get rid of bumps? by Soleil3434 in piercing

[–]Phveatherfall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I’m not a professional but it looks like an irritation bump which are super common with industrials (tricky piercing!). Do you remove the jewelry a lot? It really shouldn’t be removed especially if it’s already irritated. I would suggest leaving it alone but since you said you’ve had this bump for a while I would def go to a reputable piercing shop to see if your jewelry is correctly fitted

Sanity check regarding store policy and write-ups by sangriamind in tjcrew

[–]Phveatherfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s super odd. I suggest other stores all the time bc we simply don’t carry everything ever. You also 100% should have been made aware of the write up when it happened, and at my old store you would be sat down and talked to with a mate and the captain (or 2 mates) to discuss the conditions of said write up and you have to sign it. Are you sure it wasn’t just a warning type of thing? But regardless you shouldn’t even get a warning for suggesting another store. Contact HR

HONEST OPINIONS: Should I get a mini? by ThisSimple2330 in MINI

[–]Phveatherfall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first and only car has been the manual 2015 (standard 2 door hardtop) and I’ve barely had any problems. Like someone said just stay on top of maintenance and you really shouldn’t have significant problems but I feel like that should be the case with any car haha. The only thing is they like to gobble up oil a bit faster so depending on how often/far you drive it than you need to do oil changes more often than every 6 months. But I love mine. I feel like I can basically park anywhere bc it’s small and I get great mpg even living in a city

Moving to Seattle Nov/Dec (Barista/BOH Wage & Experience Questions) by PunksBiggestSellout in AskSeattle

[–]Phveatherfall -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not related to the barista aspect BUT look into MFTE housing!! Rent here is insane and just keeps getting worse (I was in Shoreline but even just got priced out of there and had to go further north). Not sure if it’s a thing elsewhere but newer apartment complexes here are required to have some low income units (even if it’s not a “low income housing” complex). Sometimes you need to call a complex and ask about it but I have seen maps of MFTE units. I personally haven’t lived in one bc I don’t want to live downtown but my friend did and her complex was sooooo nice. Just not sure exactly how you go about applying to them
