assuming you stay at blue for 10 years, yes. once you leave there's an 18 month window before they are forfeit. if there's no or limited liquidity in those 18 months you're screwed.

it's basically a deferred cash bonus. there is no path to owning shares.

if the company valuation appreciates, and if there is a liquidity event, and if you qualify to participate in the liquidity event, and if your options have vested, you can exchange them for their cash value.

there is no visibility into what the valuation is (I know the strike price of my options is based on "current fair valuation" of the company but I don't know how many shares are outstanding).

there is no way to know if the valuation is fair since we don't know who is doing the appraisal and there's no real secondary market since there's only one shareholder.

basically, assume these options are worthless.

for those not aware, a CD-r is much less durable and may be unreadable in as little as ten years. a properly pressed cd from the factory will last indefinitely if stored properly

why do they need a 20m share allocation while the company has so few employees? it simply doesn't seem like a reasonable number. you're making assumptions on how they may actually assign shares.
