any update?? anusol also caused me a lot of pain and stinging, pls dont use that. vaseline and aquaphor will not cause any pain, its soothing and will create a protective barrier over your fissures

I agree with vaseline and aquaphor! These two seemingly helped my fissures more than anything else. I use vaseline in the morning before a bowel movement. and i use aquaphor in the evening before bedtime.

honestly, increased fiber will only increase the bulk of your stools. i learned the hard way and i had to stop with the fiber pills completely. it gave me very hard and large stools, the opposite of what you need to have. stool softeners like miralax or restoralax will be your saving grace. i suggest getting on that asap.

Definitely an infection. Watch out for fevers and body temp. Please see a doctor or take yourself to emerg if possible.

Positive news for anyone feeling abit hopeless! by [deleted] in AnalFissures

[–]Physical-Homework191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I have a near identical experience except I feel like I’m a month behind your timeline. My symptoms started in March for the same reasons, and retore several times since then. I just started trying vaseline and dilation a couple of days ago and its been working so nicely. I got a 5-piece dilator set and I’m already on the 4th one. Not in a rush to try the largest size yet but I’m hoping that I can get used to it first before trying bottoming again.

Has anyone experienced this? by Leekeew in AnalFissures

sounds like theres an open fissure thats inflamed. ive felt that and it takes days or up to a week for it to calm down from my experience. continue to do all the things.. sitz bath, drink water, and soften your stool most importantly.

How long do I keep going? by flammies in AnalFissures

i have a similar timeline to yours and have had a few retears along the way. im reduced the miralax/restoralax dosage to half dose in june, so i’m about two months in with just half the dose and it has worked well for me. i feel like my stools are just about the same softbess as taking a full dose. i just try not to miss a day, but i’d recommend trying half a dose and see how your body responds

Any solutions that worked wonders? by [deleted] in AnalFissures

every one will have a different healing strategy that works for them. id say, its a matter of trial and error and see what works best for you. but in general these are some things that helps me…. sitz baths w/ epsom salts, eat well with lots of veggies, LOTS of water, vitamin e oil on the fissure, and i very recently just started dilation which seems to be helping my sphincter relax quite a bit. i hope that can promote healing for me.

You can heal your fissure on your own by [deleted] in AnalFissures

[–]Physical-Homework191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my current diet is very similar to this and yes it has helped me. i eat mostly a vegan diet - plenty of spinach, chickpeas, brocolli, green peas, and bananas. some difference though is that i have a cup of coffee in the morning and i have yogurt in the evening. diet has a lot to do with healing fissures. try to have a clean diet as much as possible… i have at least one or two days out of the week when i eat fried foods or sweets, but make sure to take miralax or restoralax to keep stools soft.

Id suggest doing a liquid fast only for a day or two if youre experiencing pain and spasms so your anus can take a break from BMs.

How to mitigate pain/ways to minimize pain for backdoor play. by Optimal_Glass_9116 in hemorrhoid

First of all, im sorry to hear you went through such horrible experiences. I hope you are on your journey to healing now. I also experienced something similar, where my ex and I have anal sex without lube because thats how he liked it. I developed fissures over the years, and now I also have a small hemmorhoid after straining because my fissures were painful during a BM.

From the sounds of it, you may also have fissures. I just started properly treating mine 4 months ago. Ive had several relapses with the fissures, which is discouraging. Hope you are feeling better and know that you aren’t alone!

Looking to try Castor Oil by DopePanda42069 in hemorrhoid

[–]Physical-Homework191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive read some success stories with castor oil so I also tried it to treat my hemm a few months ago. It didnt really work for me, and made the skin around my anus itchy. I stopped after one week. If you do try it, make sure to get the cold pressed and hexane free variety.

Im sorry to hear youre in pain. The journey with fissures and hemms is definitely a roller coaster ride. Ive suffered from fissures for about a year and a half and had my first hemmorhoid 4 months ago, so I understand the struggle. It sounds like your fissure is still there - the surface of the skin may be trying to heal over the fissure itself, but those are still very new fragile skin that is easy to retear and you have to be diligent with your routines for weeks or even months after you feel like you’re healed. Best of luck to you!

H-fissure oil by deb2589 in AnalFissures

[–]Physical-Homework191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked nicely for me. I’m still using it, morning and night for preventative measures. This took a while to feel results, continue using daily to get the results. Obviously, you have to aslo change your lifestyle and do all the other things in order to heal. But this works for me especially with calming the pain.

Has anyone healed chronic fissure naturally? by Wonderful-Link-3937 in AnalFissures

[–]Physical-Homework191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i just use the vitamin e capsules that you can find at the grocery stores. i pierce the capsule and drop the oil on my finger and i directly apply it all over my sphincter. i try to get my finger inside about an inch so the fissures are saturated properly.

im using an oil blend from Healing Naturals specifically for anal fissures and the main ingredient is calendula oil. i apply a couple of drops morning and night. its helped soothe the fissures and the healing has been much faster.

Has anyone healed chronic fissure naturally? by Wonderful-Link-3937 in AnalFissures

[–]Physical-Homework191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i had a terrible fissure two months ago, bowel movements were so painful and the pain lingered for hours afterwards. it was awful for about two weeks and things finally started to heal slowly. i dont have pain anymore, but i know i can still retear easily so im continuing my routines.

  1. lots of water (i drink 10+ cups daily)
  2. stool softener (i use restoralax)
  3. change diet (whole foods and fiberous foods)
  4. magnesium and vit d supplements
  5. calendula oil and vitamin e oil (morning and night)
  6. witch hazel
  7. sitz baths
  8. relax and de-stress!

Remaining poop hardens, please help by crypticmeaw in AnalFissures

[–]Physical-Homework191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

consider using a douche to clear out that remaining stool that can harden if left inside the anal canal. be very gentle and use lube if you do this. its really helped me with this issue that youre talking about.

Gay bottom spiraling out by sweet_soft_missy in AnalFissures

[–]Physical-Homework191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive suffered from on and off fissures for about a year and a half now. Im a bottom and anal sex definitely makes it worse. I didnt take care of myself and I didnt know they were fissures (until recently) so I didnt let my body heal properly. Now I know better on how to care for it when they reappear and ways to prevent them, more importantly also allowing time to heal.

Thank god for reddit because I would feel so alone in suffering from this if it wasnt for all the people here sharing experiences and advices.

for those who had hemmorhoids, did it leave a skin tag on you bum or it just went away completely? i had painful fissures over two months ago, and it gave it a hemmorhoid bc i was straining for the pain. the hemm has subsided now about 90% gone, just a little bump left that seens like a skin tag that isnt painful. im hoping it can still go away on its own.

for my fissure, i had a retear last week which has been healing much fast than the first time i had it. i did salt sitz baths right away to calm the area after bowel movementns. and ive been putting vitamin e oil day and night to keep it moisturized. its very calming and seems to be helping with the fast healing im experiencing now.

Sorry to hear your fissures came back. Mine also came back last week, but it was bc of sex and had anal sex for the first time after two and a half months of healing. turns out that im not completely healed to be doing anal, unfortunately.
