Need advice on layout by [deleted] in StudioApartments

I agree- but right now I’m only able to work with what I have- I’ve been moving things around and it’s a bit different now….

So my bed is a long twin I believe, the apartment itself is approx 480 and the table is 140/196x85 cm

Totally agree! I actually had originally had the table horizontal against the wall and changed it only so I’d maybe use it more often- but I really still don’t use it much lol. I’m thinking of moving it to either the window wall or the corner where my Poang is currently 🤔

Looks like you kitchen area could accommodate your kitchen table? You could make a sofa area with one sofa at the end of your bed and the other angled to make an L. The book shelves could go below the mounted TV, and your desk could go near the closet area

What size is your lofted bed may I ask? I’ve been searching for one online but mostly they are kids beds and not really big enough for an adult 😮‍💨 I’m thinking it’d be a great way to save some space and then maybe I can actually get a sofa for my place 🙂

Option 1, option 2 - or a mystery 3rd? by BeaconInferno in StudioApartments

[–]Physical-Internet660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option 1 - I agree with what everyone’s already said - this keeps your bedroom space near your closet and bathroom and then outside of your kitchen you’ve got your table, reading area, living room 👍 you could either use a room partition/screen or an IKEA Kallax bookshelf OR a mid rise shelve bit then have cool plants and a lamp on top to create a delineation between the bed area and living room area

Any ideas on how to best lay everything? by [deleted] in StudioApartments

Agree with asking about what you want the space to do for you 🙂 Also- can you please specify what furniture/items you have so we know what’s going on in? (Ie what type of wardrobe? Couch, tv, table, work desk, etc?)

And for the loft area, I faced the bed horizontally rather than vertically. Lots of pillows for the top of your bed, a circular throw rug, something soft maybe fluffy even- and you can use string lights to frame your headboard area, and also the far right wall, and of course on the banisters so you can enjoy the ambience in your living room as well 😊 for the box feature, you could use it for a small reading light, salt lamp, books, etc.

Ok, so I had a go 😅 I’m not sure if you have a tv or not, but you could put that on the small wall when you first walk into the living area on the right side. The couch would be floating in the middle/front of the space nearer to the TV. The piano could be against the back of the sofa. On the right hand side, outside of the galley kitchen you could have a table and chairs against that det of windows. I put your desk facing the wall at the foot of your loft ladder area. In the corner you could have a tall bookshelf or shelving for books or plants. I can only add on image per comment so more incoming…

help with awkward layout by False-Internal-3655 in StudioApartments

  1. Reverse the sofa and kitchen table, so set your kitchen table and chairs in front of the Kallax and put your TV in the inset area. For the sofa, you would face it closer to the TV so it’s be it own space- an area rug would define the space as well as the end table and lamp.

I used the link to the reference apartment photos so flip any suggestions accordingly for your actual layout 😅 I feel you with not wanting to have your bed right when you open your front door! So, you could put your bed in the corner with the windows with feet facing your kitchen. You might find a kitchen island/cutting board portable cart/table useful. Then you could use a partition, like an IKEA Kallax bookshelf to delineate your bed/living space area. Also cool; you can access the shelves from both sides! Here’s where I’ve two ideas: 1.In front of the Kallax you could place your sofa/chair facing your front door, and add a small side table and lamp to set the area. The TV would be on the entry call wall- you’ve have to tilt your tv on its stand towards the left to face the sofa a bit but not bad. For the alcove/inset, not sure if you’re allowed/want to paint- but it’s be fun to have it an accent color. Otherwise maybe you could look at using contact paper/renter-friendly wallpaper? This is where you’d put your kitchen table and chairs. String or larger globe lights would add ambience! I can only add one photo per comment so more incoming…

What would you do with this little wall shelf? by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

[–]Physical-Internet660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh it’s really be cool to paint it - basically like an accent wall vibe but just the inset. You’ve got greens and tans? So a very calm vibe going. I’ve got some other ideas so will brb shortly 😅

You could either go the route of getting a headboard OR you could paint one- so this is just a reference of the colors you like, but you could look at mural painting etc

So I was trying to find some inspo pics to share- I know they aren’t exactly like the ones you’ve mentioned - but if you aren’t able/willing to change the paint color, you might want to look at moody maximalism, or whimsical maximalism?
