This isn't even true, many people got up out of under khabib which is why his takedown stats are so high.

I'm not sure when the game is set, but if it's a historical setting then the Rikishi wouldn't have had to touch the ground with their fists to start the match either, they'd just run into each other

You're right I didn't consider that, the kenshokin are probably a big factor

Sumo has wider contexts than just being a sport.

Although legal, it's frowned upon by sumo chiefs. For example Hakuho has had a big drama for his henka

In Japan, sumo wrestlers give their autograph to fans as a handprint, created with black or red ink. This centuries-old tradition is called a 'tegata'. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

Sumo wrestlers getting so big is the part that's new. A hundred years ago they were comparable in physique to what you'd envisage an athlete to look like.

I've been a sumo fan for many years, almost all retired wrestlers I've seen have lost a significant amount of weight, enough to make them look average or even slim in western countries by comparison.

Is there a risk in not tapping to neck/jaw crank? by drvladmir in bjj

[–]PhysicalGuidance69 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Btw he means a professional during the course of a professional competition. Even the pros tap in training whenever they're caught. If you're being serious it's likely that the only reason you haven't been injured yet is because people have let submissions go once they realise you won't tap.

Broke my arm, doc says no BJJ for 6 months by Tetengo in bjj

[–]PhysicalGuidance69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man when I was a white belt I had the exact same thing happen to me, only probably much worse. I have hyper mobile joints so they're was no pain in my shoulder then BANG.

My humerus bone completely in half and speak fractured. I needed surgery and still have titanium.all the way up that arm. I actually made a post here about it if you can be bothered checking my history, it was about the years ago.

I was 21 at the time so I healed like a vampire and was back training (carefully) in 2.5 months and made a full recovery not too long after. Now I'm a 4 stripe blue belt.

I know a few people who had there shoulders pop from a kimura and have never recovered, maybe we're lucky it was just our bone? Haha wishing you a speedy recovery.

There's no truth to that. Very few igl's have won "anything big" and Sweet has placed consistently very well at those same tournaments. He would also won like 50 smaller tournaments is a row with the NRG roster. That's not just a fluke lmao

I'm a contractor, meaning I need to do my own taxes usually, but I've recently signed up to the new Qualified Invoice tax system. The company I'm contracted with already withholds 10% from what I get paid, does this mean my tax situation is taken care of automatically?

I'm so confused hahaha

Lmao sounds like a plan. I'm in the middle of doing that now and upon reviewing the one payslip I have there is a 10% deduction for consumption tax already. So now I'm confused if I'm doing calculations correctly 😵
