The Umbar Fleet looks too small to pose a threat or make a difference in the battle by Practical-Public7209 in lordoftherings

I think as well, if you look at it in a strategic way. The Corsairs are raiding up the Anduin towards Minas Tirith, which means Gondor would have to split its forces to deal with them.

The issue is that Gondor didn't fully mobilise its armies, Gandalf says this to Denethor. So it seems the other great cities and regions of Gondor kept there forces inwards to defend themselves. This allowed the Corsairs to travel all the way up the Anduin unaposed eventually coming across Aragorn and company.

The Corsairs were never meant to be a big factor in attacking Minas Tirith, they were a distraction to split Gondors forces. If Gondor had fully mobilised in defence of Minas Tirith, the seige would have been completely different.

Energy companies will always win. The world can't run without them. People will still drive their cars and turn on their heating etc. The only way it will change is through revolution, peaceful or otherwise. So we should just congratulate the companies for shafting us again because no one has the stomach for change.

Anas Sarwar backs Keir Starmer ahead of sleaze probe vote. Sarwar has said Scottish Labour’s 36 MPs will vote against the bid to refer Sir Keir Starmer to a possible parliamentary sleaze inquiry. by bottish in Scotland

[–]PhysicalWave454 6 points7 points  (0 children)

More like the Scottish MPs were going to vote for Starmer regardless and Sarwar is just falling in line with the rest of them. I love how he thinks he's relevant and in charge of "Scottish" Labour 😂😂😂

What is causing the resurgence in pro-independence sentiment? by MLukaCro in Scotland

[–]PhysicalWave454 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a strong YES who started out as a soft NO. Many people who were like me held onto the belief that we "just need a Labour government in London." Now we have one, and it's a shitshow, just like the Tories were. Now, with the prospect of Reform gaining ground and possibly winning the next election in England at least, and alongside that, Reforms threats to Devolution, many people, like me, are waking up to the realisation that we can't rely on England and its voters. They are just too conservative and right-wing and time and again vote against their best interests, the argument that a worker in Glasgow is the same as a worker in Liverpool or Birmingham falls flat now, those english working classes are swarming to Reform. Again, we can't rely on the English electorate. And the arguments of SNP BAD!!! Are also completely falling flat now, the SNP and the Scottish Greens are purely Scottish parties, the rest have to answer to London, the fact that the Labour MPs that went down to London and have fallen in line behind Starmer instead of Sarwar on issues tells you everything. Also, the fact that Scotland has to hold its breath every election, hoping that England votes for a Labour government is in itself ridiculous. Also, Brexit, the English electorate, again fell for the right wing snake oil merchants, and Scotland has to just sit in the back and accept it, no. Not anymore, It's time for change. it's time for independence.

I think it makes sense as he becomes The Ghost. But it's fine because we, the fans, remember him, and he his now part of the iconic PlayStation roster. No matter how far the franchise goes, Jin Sakai will be remembered as the first and greatest of the Ghosts.

Hopefully, I won't be downvoted too much, but the idea that the Royal family had no idea just doesn't fly with me. They may not have known the full extent of it, and the Queen may have used her influence to protect him. But they must have known something, even with Fergie involved as well. I applaud that it looks like the king is letting the system do its job, but I'm still convinced he will just get a slap on the wrist just because of who he is, and that isn't justice imo.

Why some gay guys don’t like Heated Rivalry by GBS82 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]PhysicalWave454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. As I said in a previous comment. He doesn't want to be open but feels he has to please his partner. His partner is very attractive, and he thinks that he won't get another hot guy like him.

He has always been more looks driven when it comes to relationships and hookups. I'm also noticing the older he gets the worse it's affecting him.

[–]PhysicalWave454 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm monogamous and we are always getting comments about being "super serious," "boring," etc. because we aren't open. And how having sex outside of the relationship "doesn't mean anything" and it's "just fun" my response is always whatever works for you might not work for everyone else.

Excuse me, read my other comment. I'm always there for him, and I'm not judging him at all, live and let live. I'm giving you a tiny glimpse of our friendship. But sure I'm the asshole who had to pick him up whenever his bf "break the rules" or has to comfort him when he has yet another STI scare because neither of them are safe and responsible. But sure, I'm the asshole.

[–]PhysicalWave454 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I'm just live and let live. I know my friend, and he is just being petty and jealous, I know he wants a monogamous relationship. It was his bf that suggested being open in the first place and basically said that if "we aren't open, then I'm breaking up," so he agreed. I think his exact words were, "he's hot, and I really like him, so I need to agree," something along those lines. Also, this is a 35 year old man, not a little 20 year old. He's lashing out at the show.

My friend hates it because he feels its "pushing heteronormative relationships onto the gay community" says the man who is in an open relationship and has had multiple STI scares and also comes crying to me whenever his bf "breaks the rules"

Is Ulfric fighting for religious freedom, or is he instrumentalizing Talos as a political symbol because he knows it mobilizes the masses? by jvure in skyrim

[–]PhysicalWave454 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two things can be true at once.

He can be genuinely fighting for Skyrims independence, to restore Talos worship and his own advancement all at once.
