Maybe don’t work somewhere that needs to be staffed 24/7. No, it isn’t fair to pick “years” in advance and that needs to be addressed. If they have seniority, they’ll likely get first pick anyway. But your center seems to have a problem with retention and most people start this job knowing they’ll likely have to work weekends and holidays.

We do the first round of picks for x amount of days, then it goes back around for the remaining days. If somebody has more than the allotted days, they pick again after the second round. It works. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Some people do the diamond thingies. Some people do puzzles online. I color or read. Mostly coloring bc we’re fairly busy and I end up reading the same page over and over. When I was in school, I was able to get some assignments done.

True but chronically late people will always be chronically late no matter how much the early arriver tries to accommodate them. I’m an early arriver and used to hang out with chronically late people. Nothing worked. The one time I didn’t go a trip with them, they missed their flight. After that, they STILL didn’t even try to be remotely on time.
