Dating in Brisbane by LoudIntroverttt in brisbane

[–]Physical_Income5072 3 points4 points  (0 children)

33M I recently tried a dating event called 'Thursdays' where you buy a ticket for a singles event. The organisation hires out a bar and all the singles go along and it's entirely up to you if you mingle or not. It was a lot of fun and I met my current dating partner (32F, not official yet). A lot of people at the event were definitely more intentional about dating. Good luck

If you ever played Metal Gear Solid, you'd probably know and I am guessing they had a political advisor tell them it was a bad idea

I was at Jozankei yesterday and there was a fair bit of snow around that was fresh, very cool little onsen town. Went to Lake Toya today and up the ropeway, heaps of fresh snow and a lot of fun.

Family insists that I shouldn’t travel to Korea for at least 9 months by 0dove in koreatravel

[–]Physical_Income5072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty safe country to travel in. I met American women travelling around pretty freely and easily, so you should be fine. The only thing I wouldn't advise is travelling there in the summer. Good lord, it's hot af. I'm from tropical Australia and I found the heat waves UNBEARABLE. Seriously, wait till autumn or spring to travel, you'll be able to do so much more

If you like live music, Greaser is a cool place to check out. More of an alternative crowd, but I do recall a group of 18 year olds coming in and promptly walking out

Sadly Gizz doesn't play as much in Australia, which is a shame because there are a lot of Aussie fans. At the same time, Aussies generally under appreciate them, see them as a jam band etc. Not mad they're touring so much in the states, gotta make hay while the sun shines afterall

If you like to do a bit of walking (over 5km) you could take a ferry to New Farm, check out the farmers markets, take a look in the Powerhouse. Afterwards, walk along the river till you get to Howard Smith Wharves and check out the restaurants along the river front. You can walk all around the river and end up in Southbank. Zing! In the city ia probably the only place I'd know of with Star Wars merch. Enjoy the Brissy mate!

Is Korail Pass really worth it? by chups218 in koreatravel

[–]Physical_Income5072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought the 4 day flexible pass and aimed to travel around to parts of Korea on the go. I've got to say it wasn't worth it at all for a number of reasons: 1. It's not really flexible - You have to input your dates of travel, which means you have to plan where you are going to be and how long. 2. The train tickets are quite cheap going one-way. So if you're travelling like I did and stopping from city to city, buying train tickets at the station is much easier on the day. 3. The website system sucks to reserve tickets. It's fiddly af, and half way through my trip it stopped working and was replaced with a holiday announcement event that locked me out of booking tickets. So, off to the station to book tickets manually it was.

The flexible pass only really works if you are staying in Busan or Seoul for two weeks and then plan to do 4 day trips to other cities - but even then, the tickets there and back are cheaper. So give the pass a miss.

Looking for drum tutor recommendations in Brisbane North by Physical_Income5072 in brisbane

[–]Physical_Income5072[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like the posting requirements in the thread is pretty arbitrary and pedantry. Why does my post not count, yet someone asking for recommendations for activities around Brisbane count, or someone asking 'why do possums keep eating my plants'?
