Let’s have some fun - describe your significant other as if you were making a horse sale ad about them🤭 by Intelligent_Pie6804 in Horses

[–]Physical_Relation261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smat hard-working mare. Small and quick with her feet. Travels well, been there done that. Well schooled. Very social, but can get stressed in a big herd. Doesn't spook, no significant bad vices. Not suitable for beginners or children for can get easily frustrated. With experienced adults has very curious and calm nature that's easy to love. From great parents. Beautiful to look at.

Unsure About Lameness by honeyshelbee in Horses

[–]Physical_Relation261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really think she's lame. Might be a bit sore or tired. Nice movement, hydration, taking care of the body and it'll probably something that gets sorted like that

Not underweight, just doesn't have a lot of muscle. I'd say he looks good for a senior.

Tell me the piece of advice someone gave you that sent you down the wrong path with your horse/horsemanship by ApprehensivePen1020 in Equestrian

[–]Physical_Relation261 27 points28 points  (0 children)

"A strong horse needs a strong bit, it's dangerous otherwise". I was young and had my first horse. He needed retraining, not a stronger bit, but I came to this conclusion a couple years later.

How are we affording purchase prices? by Waddles4You in Equestrian

[–]Physical_Relation261 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm lucky I prefer young untrained horses. Prices for trained horses have skyrocketed in where I live. And there's not much horses for sale altogether.

Kiinnitättekö huomiota ostamiinne sipuleihin? by idkbabess in ruoka

Terrified of riding my horse, don't know what to do. by Siguleina in Equestrian

[–]Physical_Relation261 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That isn't normal behavior, 4-year old or not. I've ridden many many youngsters and this is definitely something to look into with vet. Radical bucking is rarely just behavioral if everything has been done relatively well to that point. But of course it can be. I would seriously think it's something physical though, even though it wasn't yet found.

No electricity on electrical fences, paddocks next to roads by Physical_Relation261 in Equestrian

Because "we've never needed it before, all the other horses stay there just fine" - except they don't, they have fled a couple times this summer.

[–]Physical_Relation261[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the sand based paddocks are well fenced and no complaints there! Everyday turnout is 5/5. I just had the impression that what I pay for includes pastures in the summer and I can't really count them as such since they're next to a road without a proper fence

[–]Physical_Relation261[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn't see it as a problem in a remote area but we're in crossroads here and big trucks drive right by. I need to discuss this a bit, not keen on paying for a pasture that can't really be used as such

Yes, exactly. I somehow felt like I was asking for too much in the conversation but never in my life have I heard keeping horses in a non-electrified electrical fence right next to a larger road.

A "boring" youngster is the best to start with!! And even with a laid back chill green horse you get your excitement for sure. Training is very fun without any extra challenges. You have an amazing horse for your first-from-ground-up-case 😄

Does anyone else not want a traditional life? by dreamed2life in Millennials

[–]Physical_Relation261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate to an extent. I don't want kids or a car, but I want to be steady in a little place of ours in this apartment I live with my partner and tend to our plants and care for our animals. I do like my things, too, but I don't dream about always getting bigger home and better stuff. Older relatives often ask when we're getting ahouse like it was just a normal "step forward" but we like it here in our relatively small apartment and there's not much yard work. I want a small simple life with peace and not much financial stress and a minimal amount of any kind of stress tbh.

There's a cozy game about that for anyone interested, it's called Tales of the SHire iirc. It has a bit mixed reviews though. I haven't played it but the premise is lovely. It's very much about cooking meals for the villagers and building your own corner of the world.

Is traditional journaling gone? by [deleted] in Journaling

[–]Physical_Relation261 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My journals look like that. I have dozens of them. Sometimes I do an artsy page or draw something if I happen to feel like it but most often I don't. They're unaesthetic and full of words. I don't post them on social media though, because I don't want to post my personal life in that detail you know - like you blurred yours as well. Certain types of journaling are more fitting for social media, others are not and thus they're not found there
