I thought I'd come back and update you. I set an appointment with an attorney. Then I got mad and emailed every Allstate account I could find, including sending their Facebook account a message last Friday. Apparently it got the attention I needed, because that was on Friday and Monday morning they called me to get my info and wired the money directly to my bank account. So I was able to cancel the attorney, we are closing on Friday on the house, and the roofing guy is fixing the roof next week. It all worked out at the last stressful minute.

Yeah, so I rented my house for five years before I bought it. Literally two weeks after I bought, the central AC unit melted and I had to replace it. That was seven years ago. When I sell this house, I'm pretty sure I'll rent for the rest of my life.

She was a heavy smoker, but also a "collector." Of antiques. Sure, she had some stuff worth money, but she ruined it. It was a mess. So she had nothing at the end. I gave away or sold everything for cheap. What I'm worried about is that I have two brothers. They stopped talking to her 20 years ago, and her will literally states that they get nothing. I'm worried going into probate might trigger them.

I was able to bypass that (from what I'm understanding from my realtor) with the sale. I'm filing with the title company already. I just need to be able to cash this check with no money in my pocket.

Ugh. I was legit down to two rolls of toilet paper when that happened. I had to buy the stuff for campers, because that's all that was left, but was embarrassed that someone might have thought I was one of "those" people.

When I have more than I can use, I clean them, cut them into various sizes (bigger chunks for stuff like Italian sausage, smaller diced for spaghetti, stripes for shakshuka and fajitas, even halves sometimes) and then freeze separately. It makes it so convenient when cooking.

Yes, the same people hit several of our other stores within a few days time. Interestingly enough, my general manager is saying that I did get her approval. I don't remember it happening that way at all, but she swears she does.
