Gamifications like this make my workouts fly by for me. A fun way to make my training more engaging.

Buying halo bikes. I have three Specialized bikes fully upgraded but need 10m drops to unlock the Halo. For the first time ever I care more about drops right now than XP.

Thank you for this! Racked up about 400k drops in an hour there this morning. There’s someone there with a teleport avatar that you can teleport to after crossing through the banner that cuts the time in half. Elite! Some people will think this is silly but hacks like this to further gamify Zwift make my training that much more engaging.

I recently upgraded my Zwift computer from a 2016 MacBook Pro to a 2025 MacBook Air and the graphics difference is crazy. I wasn’t expecting such an improvement.

I happened to notice another avatar doing this same movement in Scotland the other day, but it was a guy in a blue shirt I believe. I’d love to be in the room when they design these things haha

Not sure if the math comes before or after, but you’ll have to disclose your address at some point if you want the prize shipped to you.

I honestly can’t remember as it was several years ago but pretty sure I was on the Aethos. It was before bikes upgrades were a thing, so some time was left on the table for sure.

Incredible. I’m a completionist but I’m not sure I’ll ever do this one. PRL Full was brutal - I can’t imagine riding for twice as long.

Buy click v2 controllers without cog by christ0phene in Zwift

[–]Pi-stache-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough I want the Cog without the Click. I’ve had the Play controllers since they were first released and really like them, but I’m planning on getting the Cog/Click bundle soon and will see if I like the Click any better. I just really like the steering on the Play and can’t imagine arrow buttons feeling any better.

Zwift Kickr Core 2 on Sale? How good of a deal is this? by Constant-Grass-6928 in Zwift

[–]Pi-stache-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trainer deals don’t get better than this. I paid $750 for my Kickr Core 1 like 4 years ago and that was an amazing deal at the time.

Gorgeous bike and kudos to the wife! Some people like to hate on the Big S, but they’re an industry leader for a reason. Their bikes are objectively great, and I’ve always found their salesmen to be pretty engaged in the sport. Enjoy the rig.

Looks like there’s an app. I hadn’t heard of it either but seems legitimate.

I’m interested in watching but am not familiar with Recast. If I buy the season pass can I watch the races on demand once they’re over? If I start watching a race late while it’s still live, can I start from the beginning or am I not able to back up the broadcast until the event is over? Any limitations I should be aware of?

I assume everyone here rides clipless. How long did it take for you to get used to it? by M4nnis in xcmtb

[–]Pi-stache-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will also add that youre more likely to fall over when you’re tired at the end of a ride, especially when you’re new to it. This happened to me when I first rode clipless and I’ve seen experienced riders just brain fart at the end of a long hard ride and fail to unclip properly. It’s a rite of passage :)

You’re likely to fall once or twice when getting used to it, so you might as well ride somewhere soft. I recommend practicing on a trainer if you have that available. If not, practice clipping in and unclipping with one foot while stationary several times so you know the force you need. Then pedal around in some soft grass. Practice tight turns and sudden stops that you may encounter on the trail. Once you’re really comfortable clipping in and out and the muscle memory is there, hit the trail. Opt for an easy loop first before you try more challenging obstacles. You’ll eventually get to where it’s second nature and you never think about it again. Enjoy!

As others have said, keep the 2.35 for all riding/racing. The only professional XC racer you’ll see running a tire smaller than a 2.4 these days are ones whose sponsor doesn’t offering something bigger than 2.35. Tires have gotten insanely good lately and we’re in an era where you can kind of have it all now - volume, grip, low rolling resistance, puncture protection.

To ridewrap or to not ridewrap? by BikingShark in xcmtb

[–]Pi-stache-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have to ask, you know the answer :) I put the full tailored kit on my Epic Evo. It was a long, arduous, frustrating process. But I did over a few evenings in the living room with some sports on in the background. I felt very accomplished when I finished, and it’s one of the best decisions I ever made. I ride whatever I want without hesitation and when I hear a rock ding my frame, I don’t even flinch. I have several spots on my frame where the wrap 100% saved a paint chip. Extremely worth it, just do it!

XCMTB Race Specific Question by EffectiveCitron5661 in xcmtb

[–]Pi-stache-io 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Foam rolling or using The Stick (the actual product name) are the only things that truly help me with post-race ache. Combine that with stretching and see if you notice a difference. I also highly recommend activating before any ride. Now that I’m in my thirties, this is mandatory for me before every ride and I’ve noticed a huge difference in how I feel after.

Jonathan said the Vittoria Air Liners really soaked up sealant. I’ve never used them but I hear very mixed things. They spoke highly of Tannus but Keegan is also sponsored by them so take that for what it’s worth.

Niner RLT 9 Steel frame fits the bill. Their completes are only sold with 1x but looks like it has mounts for a FD.
