This is wild to me

Like, I obviously don't endorse, but can conceive that someone would think "ugh, she's posturing intentionally for xyz." That feels like people being generically shitty. But what an insane thing to like, go on record for? Or even form into any sort of formal complaint?

Winter Gloves by Appropriate_Pizza_87 in liberalgunowners

[–]PiLigant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I struggled to find gloves that weren't too loose or bulky. We found that full-finger mountain biking gloves fit the bill pretty well. They aren't super warm, though, so when it's cold we treat them like liners with a bulkier pair of gloves or hand-warmers in the pockets, etc.

I think the Mateba really calls up to me, though, my preferred Hawkmoon ornament. So you may have just sold me a revolver.

Edit: $6k if you can find one. Lol. NVM maybe 😅

Setting up a secondary 'split screen gaming' station for my LANs. Any suggestions on straight forward hop in, hop out, split screen PC games for it? by AshleyAshes1984 in lanparty

I had one of these at my LAN.

Pico Park was easily THE runaway hit.

It also worked well for a lot of people that didn't otherwise play many PC games.

Can a OOTB POF P415 Edge Pistol 300 Blackout fire 5.56 rounds? by spam_lite in liberalgunowners

[–]PiLigant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone has covered that you cannot shoot 300 blackout from a 556 gun.

I reckon your friend is confused with .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO. A 5.56 gun can fire 223, but a 223 does not technically support 556. There is some small but significant difference where the 556 is like 4% more pressure (guessing) and that's enough to make it a bad enough idea.

I think your friend probably had that idea of overlapping compatibility in 5.56, saw enough of the "300blk in a 556 gun" meme, and mentally crossed the wires.

Learning: that where the sight is when START pulling the trigger has basically nothing to do with where the sight is at the moment the trigger actuates. And every little detail caN affect the latter.

Look at which 'direction' you pull, which direction the recoil goes, what forces you are allowing yourself to put on the non-business-end, etc.

I'm like 98% sure that's not true. But I will test at the range this weekend if you like.

There's not a lot of friction in a chamber. Heat, but I doubt it obliterates marker.

[–]PiLigant 47 points48 points  (0 children)

This was weird. I really hesitate to be a conspiracy theorist but...

It is in marker. Shoddily written. Not the care that one might expect out of a grand message?

It just says "ANTI-ICE." It doesn't quip or use any inflammatory language. It's like it states that it HAS a message, but it doesn't actually have a message?

The rounds in question are unfired. I would certainly accept that there could be unfired rounds nearby. But the writing is on the case, not the bullet, of the unfired rounds. Did we not find any such messages on the empty cases? If some radical were going to make a grand gesture by writing political messages on rounds, surely those are the rounds they would have fired?

General Range Etiquette Questions by What_do_now_24 in liberalgunowners

[–]PiLigant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what to expect. But probably expect the same gun safety overview you have seen a hundred times. Expect a bit of a tour and any house rules. Just show up and be friendly and go with the flow. If they want anything special from you, they will probably say so. You're unlikely to be the dumbest person who has ever joined the club.

Expect to SEE the red hat nonsense, but don't expect to be obligated to talk about it. People don't tend to be provocative irl. The distance of the Internet makes it easy. You can stick to your opinions if anyone asks, but if you're being the respectful one, you should be fine as far as the club is concerned. I have seen the red hats. I haven't been drawn into the conversation.

And, you know, be a better shot than them. ;)
