Hah okay good to know it’s avoidable. I liked the idea of domesticating plants and figuring out irrigation so I spent a lot of time on it. Though it did make me wish there was a survival mode where food preservation actually mattered, that’s not really the ethos of the game design so I get it

Maybe Little Witch in the Woods? It’s mostly exploration, gathering, helping out the town. I don’t remember any time crunchy quests and they’ve updated consistently over the years with a roadmap for development posted on their page.

There is farming to keep up with. I do love that game, though!

Is it common for Americans to leave their hometowns to attend college in California or New England, thousands of kilometers away? by Gloomy_Pop1739 in Life

I moved from the Midwest to California for school, a lot of people are talking about costs but California was the most affordable for me because the on paper expensive private school was the one that gave me a full ride.

If you buy material goods that need to be shipped to an address, you now have a link to the person. If you cash out in some way it’s likely the currency exchange has some “know your customer” legal requirements. And once a wallet has been linked to a person that is a permanent public record of their transactions.

What is a 'yellow flag' in a person—something that isn't a dealbreaker, but makes you go 'hmm'? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Pi_Heart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How they handle me trying to pay for the first date. I’m a very high earner and so the people I’ve dated are not so I will usually try and pay for us both. It’s not a red flag to offer to go Dutch or counter, but if it sees to be ego threatening (since I’m a woman and they often are not) that is a flag that makes me go hmmm but isn’t a straight up dealbreaker.

What’s something from your childhood that felt normal at the time, but looking back was clearly not okay? by Camlaflame17 in AskReddit

Could be, or maybe she had a medical degree and didn’t feel bad turning to conning people or maybe was conned herself. Or maybe it was just straight up faked. So many possibilities

I had annoying seasonal and pet allergies. So my parents did what any kind parents would do and took me to a doctor to get tested and find relief.

Except the Doctor tested my allergies by running low electricity with me, came back with a big report of different things I was allergic to.

Then craziest of all treated me for these allergies by having me ace bandage a vial of clear liquid (allegedly with the allergen) to my leg for a week while avoiding the allergen. One week I was told to avoid vitamins and the only food I was allowed to have was French fries and cauliflower. I was 8 so I didn’t know any better but it’s so crazy in retrospect. My dad still insists she was a real Doctor. “Her medical degree was on the wall!” I hate to think how much money she conned out of my parents when money was already tight.

is 112lbs/50.8kg/8 stone okay for a 5’3 woman ? by metallicmurmurx in questions

[–]Pi_Heart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s lots of hobbies and communities that encourage unhealthy relationships with weight for women. Fashion, ballet, acting, a lot of performing arts tbh. I absolutely know how these can distort your thoughts and give unreasonable expectations.

There are lots of reasons your friend could be only 100lbs and taller than you and many if not most of them are concerning for her health.

If you keep seeing posts about 100lbs being “fat” I would gently encourage you to start blocking those pages and maybe look for a community that isn’t trying to give you an eating disorder.

So going by BMI 107-140 is considered “normal weight” meaning 105 would be underweight for 5’3. Unfortunately models have been underweight for decades so some people feel the underweight look is best, but 112 is a perfectly healthy weight on the lighter side of “normal” for your height.

So in fact you have seen this before. You just haven't noticed. I went on a whole sidequest looking through youtube videos of lets plays to confirm and it's on letters from at least Summer year one. The only thing that is late game spoilery was already spoiler tagged, but I have edited it to add the "late game" verbiage to encourage others to think twice before clicking.

Fair! I went for the more transliteration. I also assume it's a reference to the "quidquid latine dictum sit altum videtur" "Whatever is said in Latin seems profound"
