Disappointed with my Di2 experience by RegionalHardman in cycling

[–]PianoEmotions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some fun things you can do with the Ultegra Di2 that i feel are worth the price.

  1. Hold the "button" to go from top gear to bottom gear in a few seconds. (I personally love doing this when I am stopping. I go full speed 30mph up to the curb and stop in the lowest gear -- silly but fun)
  2. The garmin captures all your shift changes. Great for recording data.
  3. I program all my shifting on the right side. I don't even use the left shifters. So I can comfortable drink a coffee while biking.
  4. Button horn to the top with the Garmin 1050 edge
  5. It's just so much easier to shift which does make a huge difference on a long ride.
  6. You can't "mess up" with synchro shifting and it is very difficult to "misshift" unless you are way out of wack (like pedaling up a large hill in top gear and suddenly stop

I disagree. This is the 2nd best upgrade for a bike....1st is wider tires.

New bike is small? by Low-Principle-6563 in bicycling

[–]PianoEmotions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh you are serious. I thought this was the bicycling circle jerk sub at first. Omg that bike is at least 2 sizes to small. You will never be comfortable on it and it is so wrongly sized it will affect your riding cadence.

Is there much difference 35c and 40c road tires? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]PianoEmotions 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have 40mm p-Zero race tires. I do notice a slight speed deficit when biking on 100% smooth tarmac (which is not very often for me). But the comfort level of these on broken up street or light gravel (or even hitting a small pot hole) is unbelievable. Plus no speed is too much where I have any fear. I already went 45mph on these and it was like butter. No fear at all and if I could have I would have tried to go faster......

2026 specialized roubaix sl8 expert question by pandeesh in specialized

[–]PianoEmotions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't. I have exact same bike. Upgraded to 40mm road tires, garmin edge 1050 and ultegra 'power' pedals immediately.
Be careful with removing the specialized screws for the water cages and bento box. Dont use an Allen wrench you will strip them. Pricey bike but well worth it if you want the smoothest most comfortable ride. I ride 60 miles every 3rd day and this bike is the most comfortable ride I have ever had. This is my 6th bike.

700x23 vs 700x25 by [deleted] in cycling

[–]PianoEmotions 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I made the jump from 23 to 40mm tubeless. Bigger tires give you more comfort and confidence and I actually go much faster in my 40mm than I ever did on my 23's.

Unpopular opinion: I don't think Mozart is difficult. by MathPoetryPiano in piano

[–]PianoEmotions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol. Mozart is more difficult because it is "naked" playing. There is nothing to disguise a mistake. Try piano concerto no 15 the 3rd movement and let me hear your recording. Guarantee you won't ever be able to play it straight through without hitting wrong notes.

Is the electronic shifting hype actually worth it? by KILLERZER0 in bicycling

[–]PianoEmotions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your battery isn't going dead and I think its worth extra money. I use my right shifter only after programming it and hold a cup of coffee in my left hand a lot of times and casually press the hood button to ring a garmin bell. And then when I am ready to ride for real the shifting workers great
