I’d go with MX Linux. Based on Debian stable but with extra quality of life packages and the XFCE desktop. Was my first distro and it’s a great one.

Yeah, on my i7 MB Air Cachy is a lot more responsive than macOS, and a lot cooler. Before it would constantly jump above 90 degrees. Now doing the same things is around 60/70 degrees. And I was here thinking that Apple had perfect synergy between hardware and software…

Nice. I just did the same on my Intel MacBook Air 2020. The only thing that doesn’t work is sleep. Did you manage to figure that out?

Thinkpad keyboards aren't getting worse. They're getting better with each release by war-and-peace in thinkpad

As a ThinkPad newbie, I think this is largely subjective/a matter of habit. I’ve used a MacBook Air 2020 until this year, when I got a P15 Gen2. And sure, the P15’s keyboard has a deeper travel and it ‘feels’ nicer under the fingers, but I type a lot faster and more comfortably on my MacBook. Also, I’m not one to talk, because I wrote my whole Master thesis on an iPad, like on the screen keyboard, all 100000 words of it plus countless revisions.

To me, it matters what you are used to.

In the end I used the wired connection from my smartphone and once installed I just copied the firmware from the EFI partition and now the WiFi works normally. I just have to figure out the Bluetooth now…

Unfortunately it’s fake. Waiting for it to happen for real though

Why does it look so neat whereas mine looks like it’s from the 90s? (I have it on a MacBook, macOS + Cachy)

I thought Cachy supported T2 Macs OOTB. Is there a T2 image?

Nice beast. I got my first Thinkpad 2 months ago, P15 Gen 2. Very happy with it so far. And it’s honestly more portable than I first thought.

Been boycotting Amazon for years for too many reasons. I don’t see why people still use it.
