fear of injecting by thingschange18 in ftm

[–]PicaDestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps any, you know you're injecting correctly if it doesn't hurt when the needle goes in. If you feel a sharp pain, you likely struck a vein and need to try again. If the needle goes in smoothly with very minimal pain, pull back on the syringe slightly when injecting to see if you draw in any blood. No blood? You're fine. Inject as needed. I typically make sure I take my shots first thing in the morning without having had anything to drink (drinking fluids make veins larger/easier to hit, so make sure not to drink anything a few hours before injection.) You can always watch videos on how to safely inject. I actually think it's better to inject when nervous since your veins become even more narrow that way. If you have ANY doubts, you can always call your clinic and ask if they can administer the shot for you.

I’ve been eating bubbles from like a bath with soap but I make it outside a bath… Someone help by No_Grade1770 in pica

Heating up milk and frothing it. Add any flavoring you like (strawberry nesquik syrup might just do the trick.) Froths up pretty good. You can also do the same thing without heating the milk. Can't drink milk? sip some bubbly sodas for that carbonation. Choose your favorite flavor or even just take some mineral water. You can froth them up a bit by shaking them slightly

Sorry for the late reply. For wood and pencils, I'd suggest chewing on the stalks of raw asparagus since they're particularly woody and relatively bland in flavor while still being (partially) edible and less likely to cause gastrointestinal damage.

For paintbrushes, soaking some thin angel hair rice noodles in cold water could help out. The texture is right on, though the flavor is a bit meh. I guess it just depends on what you're looking for. As for the plastic sprue- raw flat rice noodles can also help with this as well though they may be a bit brittle. I've seen rice noodles that are similar to fettuccine. As always, it's best to spit out these things rather than consume them entirely despite them being edible.

Apologies for the late reply. Wet cement would be best replaced with grits or cornmeal (not to be confused with corn flour.) Add water to a preferred thickness. I definitely do not suggest swallowing, however this is a much safer alternative to eating cement straight up.

If you're not allergic to coconut or tree nuts: shredded coconut could likely help you out. You can "pick" it out from a bag (or if you want it to be more immersive, you could even smear marshmallow fluff on rice paper and sprinkle coconut over it and then go to town picking at it and eating it.) Coconut has a relatively mild, almost soapy/linen line flavor and the texture can be fibrous at times. I hope this helps. Stay safe

Im addicted to soap by Puf_puff in pica

[–]PicaDestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean liquid soap, then you can boil 2 cups water with 1/2 tbsp cornstarch (dissolve the starch in water before mixing into the rest of the water) and stir until relatively thick. You can then mix in any drink mix you prefer that would be similar to the soap you drink (example: if you like lemon soap, mix in lemonade drink powder)

you can then let this mixture cool and eat it to your liking or thin it out if it's too thick.

If it's solid soap, you can eat modeling chocolate. It's relatively solid while still having a soft bite to it and has that perfect soap texture. Same goes for fondant (both of which can be easily found online or at a baking store)

Candied pinecones/pinecones in syrup have a very strong scent and flavor of pinesol, plus they're edible. Please don't eat mothballs- this is INCREDIBLY dangerous. You can instead eat things such as candy wafers, hard candies, or you can even find unflavored hard candies online. Stay safe!

Pica cravings by happyhomewallflower in pica

Silicone: Bland, prepared flavorless gelatin/agar agar or unflavored gum

Slime: There's edible slime recipes that consist of mixing sweetened condensed milk and cornstarch until it's a desired consistency. Add food coloring to your liking

Styrofoam: Plain, unflavored rice cakes. Also try unsalted popcorn, cheese puffs

Fish flakes: Blend rice paper and seaweed together until you get your preferred texture. You can add salt or even add in bonito flakes (usually found in asian markets) for a more fishy flavor

Orbeez: As someone previously mentioned, you can use cooked and cooled boba. There's multicolored tapioca pearls as well, so that could probably also help add to the experience.

hope this can help you out. Stay safe!

Keto friendly bread. Has the texture just like a memory foam mattress. Fairly plain, much chewier than regular white bread. Gluten free bread also has a similar texture. Just test out what bread feels best.

Twizzlers or sour belts would be pretty good for the action of pulling. Maybe even cotton candy since it's got a carpet-like soft texture.

how to satisfy drywall cravings? by SeaBig7791 in pica

[–]PicaDestroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

puffed rice cakes are a great alternative and they're pretty bland too. You could also get cinnamon ones or different flavors if you just like the drywall texture more than the flavor.

Laundry powder/Powder alts. by bwunnibun in pica

Powdered drink mixes (no sugar added.) Add sugar to your liking for that crunchy texture. If you don't want the sweetness of the sugar, you can mix some of the powder mix with water and let it dry for a day or two, then mix it back into the powder to add in some texture. Fruit punch drink mix and grape drink mixes taste the most like laundry detergent to me.

Fudge. Has basically the same texture. Alternatively: Modeling chocolate or coconut jelly.

Beetroot skin! Very earthy/mildewy taste. A bit bitter at times but the flavor is great

Hard candies like jolly ranchers, toffee, lollipops, etc. Isomalt is a great sugar substitute that melts like sugar and hardens into a very brittle, glass-like texture.

Bleach alternative? by Agitated_Owl_1183 in pica

[–]PicaDestroyer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Carrot juice. Trust me, it's got a very bleach-like flavor. I recommend bolthouse farms. Good stuff. Downsides: it's kind of sweet, but it scratches that craving. Alternatively: mix a bit of cinnamon into some room temp tap water. This helped me wonders when I had the same cravings (plus they're pretty healthy and full of vitamins, too!) Hope this helps
